Procedure

 S 434-010
 (1)  Put the hose assembly on the main gear and attach it to the gear with the clamps.
 NOTE: Make sure that the markers on the hose (V-1 thru V-4) are
____ installed correctly in relation to the clamp.

If the tape needs to be replaced, do the steps that follow:

 (a)  
Wind two layers of new tape around the hose (refer to BAC5801) and to the dimensions shown.

 NOTE: Have the layers of tape make an overlap of approximately
____ 0.25 inch.
 (b)  
Safety the ends of the taped areas with the ratchet clamps.

 (c)  
Keep the ratchet part of the clamp turned away from the gear structure to prevent galling.

Install the washer or washers (4) on the expandable fitting (3).

Put the expandable fitting in the hole of the main gear axle.

 (5)  
Hold the expandable fitting (3), install the fitting (1) into the expandable fitting and tighten.

Make sure that the expandable fitting has a tight fit in the main gear axle hole.

If it is still loose, add the washers.

Feed the winded ends of the hose assembly through the fittings (1 and 2) and through the expandable fitting (3) into the hole of the axle.
