Attach the control rod to the transmitter crank and make sure the bolt and nut can be installed freely.

 NOTE: Adjust the control rod if needed to allow installation
____ of the control rod and transmitter crank.
 (l)  
Tighten the bolt and nut on the control rod and transmitter crank.

 (m)  
Disconnect the power supply at the SPD card file and remove the Phase Angle Voltmeter from the airplane wiring.

 (n)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the 6J22 circuit breaker on the P6 panel.

 (o)  
Remove the electrical power if it is not needed (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Do a Check of the Transmitter

 S 714-011
 (1)  
Examine the movement of the transmitter:

 (a)  
Push the captain's control column forward to stop.

 (b)  
Make sure the COLUMN indication on the EICAS flight controls maintenance page shows 11.5-13.5 degrees down.

 (c)  
Pull the captain's control column aft to stop.

 (d)  
Make sure the COLUMN indication shows 11.7-13.7 degrees up.

 (e)  
Release the control column to the neutral position.

 (2)  
Do this task to install the ceiling panel that you removed for access: "Install the Zone A Center Trough" (Ref 25-22-01/401).

 (3)  
Do this task: "Remove Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks, one for the removal and one for the installation of the speed brake lever position transmitter assembly (which is referred to as the "transmitter assembly"). The procedure has these parts:
 (1)  
The removal of the transmitter assembly

 (2)  
The installation of the transmitter assembly

 (3)  
An adjustment of the transmitter assembly

 (4)  
An operational test of the transmitter assembly.

 (1)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7D8, FLT CONT CMPTR L PWR
 2) 7D13, FLT CONT CMPTR C PWR
 3) 7D15, FLT CONT CMPTR R PWR

 S 014-010
 (2)  Do this task to remove the left main deck ceiling panel at station
 316: "Remove the Zone A Center Trough" (Ref 25-22-01/401).

 (3)  
Remove the transmitter assembly:

 (a)  
Disconnect the electrical connectors DB7978A, DB7978B, and DB7978C.

 (b)  
Remove the screw, washer, and nut that connect the crank to the control rod.

 (c)  
Remove the four screws, washers, and nuts that attach the transmitter assembly to the mounting bracket.

 (d)  
Remove the transmitter assembly.
