Do these steps if you install a new aileron control body cable AA or AB:

 (a)  
Remove all the rig pins.

 (b)  
Remove the straightedge.

 (c)  
Tighten the cables to two times the value shown in Fig. 501.

 (d)  
Remove all hydraulic power from the central lateral control packages.

 (e)  
Operate the control wheels through 20 full travel cycles.

 (9)  
If you cannot install the rig pins freely, the cable tension is out of tolerance, or you installed a new cable, adjust the cable tension:

 (a)  
Loosen the straightedge on the control wheels.

 (b)  
Remove the clip locks on the turnbuckles.

 (c)  
Loosen the body cables AA and AB at the turnbuckles.

 (d)  
Install rig pins A/S-2 for the left cables or A/S-1 and A/S-3 for the right cables (Fig. 503).

 (e)  
Adjust the body cables AA and AB to the value shown in Fig. 501.

 (f)  
Make sure the straightedge is level with the control wheels.

 (g)  
Remove all the rig pins.

 (h)  
Operate the control wheels through a minimum of one full cycle.

 (i)  
Make sure the tension of the two cables is balanced, and in the limits shown in Fig. 501.

 (j)  
Make sure the straightedge is level with the control wheels.

 (k)  
Make sure the maximum distance between one of the thumbrests and the straightedge is 0.05 inch.

 (l)  
Install the clip locks on the turnbuckles.

 (m)  
Install the ceiling panels.

Adjust the Control Linkage (Wheel Well)(Fig. 503)

 (1)  
Make sure the aileron trim system is at the center.

Make sure you can easily install rig pins A/S-2, A/S-4, A/S-5, A/S-3, A/S-6 and A/S-7 all at the same time.

If you cannot install one or more rig pins, adjust the control linkages to install the rig pins in this task below: "Aileron and Aileron Trim Control System Rigging Instructions".

Operate the trim switches until you can easily install rig pins A/S-6 and A/S-7.

 NOTE: Rig pin A/S-2 is an alternative to rig pins A/S-6 and
____ A/S-7. If you use rig pin A/S-2, manually turn the control wheel to make sure the trim roller is in the cam detent.

Do this task: "Remove Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Open the access panels (573BB, left wing; 673BB, right) on the wing trailing edge, forward of the aileron.
