 (b)  Adjust the dial indicator to touch the trailing edge of the lower rudder.
 CAUTION: DO NOT PUT A PRESSURE OF MORE THAN 5 PSI ON THE RUDDER
_______ SURFACE. USE PIECES OF WOOD TO APPLY THE FORCE OVER A LARGER AREA. A LARGE FORCE ON A SMALL AREA OF THE RUDDER WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO IT.
 (c)  Push with 8-12 pounds on the left side of the lower rudder, aproximately 11 inches in from the trailing edge, and hold.
 NOTE: You must apply the force over a minimum area of three

 1)  Set the dial indicator to zero.
 (d)  Push with 8-12 pounds on the right side of the lower rudder, aproximately 11 inches in from the trailing edge, and hold.

 (a)  
Install the rudder flutter test fixture to the vertical fin of the trailing edge (Fig. 506).

Do the steps for the bearing play test for the lower rudder, but push on the upper rudder.

 NOTE: The upper rudder has the same play allowance of 0.21

 inch as the lower rudder.

 (c)  
Remove the rudder flutter test fixture.

 (d)  
Remove the rig pin R4.

Rudder Trim Switch Test

 (1)  
Prepare for the test.

 (a)  
Shake the rudder pedals to make sure they are in their center position.

 (b)  
Make sure the rudder trim indicator on the control stand is at zero.

 (c)  
Make sure the rudder is at 0.0 +/- 1.0 degrees.

 (a)  
Turn the rudder trim switch fully counterclockwise (nose left). 1) Make sure the rudder moves.

 (b)  
Release the rudder trim switch. 1) Make sure the rudder trim switch goes to its center

 position immediately.
 2) Make sure the rudder stops.

 (c)  
Turn the rudder trim switch fully clockwise (nose right). 1) Make sure the rudder moves.

 (d)
