Remove the thread protector from the spindle bolt.

Connect the upper jury strut to the lower jury strut:

 (a)  
Align the end of the lower jury strut with the end of the upper jury strut.

 (b)  
Install the bolt from the forward direction.

 (c)  
Install the tang washer.

 (d)  
Install the nut: 1) Tighten the nut 360 to 420 pound-inches. 2) Loosen the nut to align the nearest castellation with the

 cotter pin hole in the bolt.
 3) Install the cotter pin.

 (6)  Lubricate the three fittings at the center of the jury strut with grease.
 NOTE: The fittings are on the bottom side of the jury strut.

 (7) Install the conduit support bracket on the end of the spindle bolt.

Install the nut on the spindle bolt:

 (a)  
Tighten the nut 96 to 144 pound-inches.

 (b)  
Loosen the nut until the torque is at zero.

 (c)  
Tighten the nut 12 to 24 pound-inches.

 (d)  
Loosen the nut to align the nearest castellation with the cotter pin hole in the bolt.

 (e)  
Install the cotter pin.

Lubricate the fitting on the end of the spindle bolt with grease.

 Connect the junction box with the attached conduits to the upper jury strut.

 NOTE: The downlock sensors are on the end of each conduit.

 Install the downlock sensors (AMM 32-61-02/201).

 Make sure there is lockwire on all of the conduit locknuts:

 (a)  
If a locknut is loose, remove the lockwire.

 (b)  
Tighten each loose locknut 175 to 200 pound-inches.

 (c)  
Install a replacement lockwire.

 (d)  
Replace all of the damaged lockwire on the other locknuts.

 1)  If it is necessary, tighten the locknuts before you install the lockwire.

 Install the cover on the junction box.

 (a)  
Turn the two turnlock fasteners.

 If it is necessary, adjust the position of the jury strut
 (AMM 32-11-08/501).
