Fixed-Pin Portal Latch Fitting Installation (Fittings 9-10 L&R and 11)

(1)
For latch fittings 9 & 11 L&R, Attach serrated plate to new fitting with bolts, washers, and nuts.
(a)
Install the latch fitting with the laminated shim and the serrated plate on the body structure.

(2) For latch fitting 10 L&R, Install the latch fitting with the laminated shim on the body structure.
NOTE: The latch fittings 10 L&R do not have serrated plates.

Make sure to use the laminated shim that have the same thickness as the one you removed.

Make sure the latch fitting and the laminated shim are installed correctly.

Install the attachment bolts and nuts on the latch fitting.
(a)
Apply sealant to bolt threads, shank, and underside of head with sealant.
(b)
Install the attachment bolts and nuts.
(c)
Make sure the countersunk side of the washer is against the bolt head.
(d)
Tighten nuts.
(e)
Apply fillet seal of sealant on the bolt heads and nuts.
