CAT.OP.MPA.295 Use of airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS) — aeroplanes
(a)  
The operator shall establish procedures to ensure that when ACAS is installed and serviceable, it shall be used during flight in a mode that enables resolution advisories (RA) to be produced for the flight crew when undue proximity to another aircraft is detected, unless inhibition of RA mode using traffic advisory (TA) only or equivalent is called for by an abnormal procedure or due to performance limiting conditions.

(b)  
When an RA is produced by ACAS:

(1)  
the pilot flying shall immediately conform to the indications of the RA, even if this conflicts with an ATC instruction, unless doing so would jeopardise the safety of the aircraft;

(2)  
as soon as permitted by flight crew workload, notify the appropriate ATC unit of any RA that requires a deviation from the current ATC instruction or clearance; and

(3)  
when the conflict is resolved, the aeroplane shall: 

(i)  
be promptly returned to the terms of the acknowledged ATC instruction or clearance and ATC notified of the manoeuvre; or

(ii)  
comply with any amended ATC clearance or instruction issued.

CAT.OP.MPA.296 Use of airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS) — helicopters
The operator shall establish procedures to ensure that when ACAS is installed and serviceable, it shall be used during flight in a mode that enables TA to be displayed.

CAT.OP.MPA.300 Approach and landing conditions
Before commencing an approach to land, the commander shall be satisfied that, according to the information available to him/her, the weather at the aerodrome and the condition of the runway or FATO intended to be used should not prevent a safe approach, landing or missed approach, having regard to the performance information contained in the operations manual.

CAT.OP.MPA.305 Commencement and continuation of approach
(a)  
The commander or the pilot to whom conduct of the flight has been delegated may commence an instrument approach regardless of the reported RVR/VIS.

(b)  
If the reported RVR/VIS is less than the applicable minimum the approach shall not be continued:

(1)  
below 1 000 ft above the aerodrome; or

(2)  
into the final approach segment in the case where the DA/H or MDA/H is more than 1 000 ft above the aerodrome.

(c)  
Where the RVR is not available, RVR values may be derived by converting the reported visibility.

(d)  
If, after passing 1 000 ft above the aerodrome, the reported RVR/VIS falls below the applicable minimum, the approach may be continued to DA/H or MDA/H.

(e)  
The approach may be continued below DA/H or MDA/H and the landing may be completed provided that the visual reference adequate for the type of approach operation and for the intended runway is established at the DA/H or MDA/H and is maintained.
