R  (3) Move the flap carriage (26) along the flap track (4). The full travel 
R  of the flap carriage (26) must be smooth. 
R  (4) Tighten the aft adjuster screw (22) sufficiently to decrease the 
R  dimension 'X' to 0.05 mm (0.002 in.). Do step 3 again. 
R  (5) Tighten the forward adjuster screw (22) sufficiently to decrease the 
R  dimension 'Y' to 0.05 mm (0.002 in.). Do step 3 again. 
R  (6) If the flap carriage (26) does not move smoothly along the flap track 
R  (4), then loosen the applicable adjuster screw (22) sufficiently 
R  until it does. 
R  (7) Install the lockplate (21) on the forward adjuster screw (22). One of 
R  the holes in the lockplate (21) must align with the hole in the flap 
R  carriage (26). If necessary, tighten the forward adjuster screw (22) 
R  to align the holes. Do step 6 again. 
R  (8) Install the forward lockbolt (17) through the lockplate (21). 
R  (9) Install the lockplate (21) on the aft adjuster screw (22). One of the 
R  holes in the lockplate (21) must align with the hole in the flap 
R  carriage (26). If necessary, tighten the aft adjuster screw (22) to 
R  align the holes. Do step 6 again. 
R  (10) Install the aft lockbolt (17) through the lockplate (21). 
R  (11) Safety the forward and aft lockbolts (17) independently with 
R  MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010). 
R  Subtask 27-54-46-420-052-A 
R  D. Continue the Installation of the No. 2, 3 and 4 Flap Carriages 
R  (1) Tighten the nuts (20) and safety them independently with 
R  MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010). 
R  (2) If a new flap carriage (26) has been installed, make sure that the 
R  nuts (25) are hand tight only. 
R  NOTE : The nuts (25) are torque tightened and safetied when the flap____ 
R  is installed.

R R R R R R  (3) Apply a layer of STORAGE PRESERVATION (Material No. 15-007) to: - the bolts (7), the washers (12) and the nuts (11) - the bolts (9) and (13), the washers (8) and (14), and the nuts (15) and (16) - the forward lockbolt (17) and the aft adjuster screw (19) - the hinge bolts (18) and the nuts (20). 
R R  (4) Lubricate the flap carriage (26) with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-024) through the carriage roller greasers (6).

R  E. Close Access 
R R  (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items. 
R R R R R  (2) Install the applicable flap: - for the No. 2 carriage, the inboard flap (Ref. TASK 27-54-61-400-003) - for the Nos. 3 and 4 carriages, the outboard flap (Ref. TASK 27-54-62-400-002). 
R R  (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.

 F. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 6CV, 8CV, 10CV, 12CV.

 G. Operational Test
 (1) Install the safety collar on the circuit breakers 10CV and 12CV.
 (2) Remove the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER from the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
 WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS ARE_______ CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.

 (a) Retract the flaps fully (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
 (3) Do an operational test of the flaps (Ref. TASK 27-54-00-710-001).
