 Install new packings (25) (P/N S9413-010) and (P/N S9413-014) on tubes (21).

 Examine oil tube (7) for blockage due to oil coking. If tube (7) is blocked, do the steps paras. (4) to (7).

 Withdraw shield tube (6) from bearing housing.

 (5)
 Use the TUBE - INSTALLATION FIXTURE, remove tube (7) from bearing housing.

 (6)
 Clean tubes (7) and (6) externally and internally using 1,1,1-trichloroethane. Make sure that the spray fluid flows freely through the tubes.

 (7)
 Dry tubes (6) and (7) with compressed air.

 (8)
 Blank the ends of tubes (6) and (7) with plastic caps or plugs.

 B. Installation of the Turbine Bearing Cavity Vent
 (1)
 If tubes (6) and (7) were previously removed for cleaning, remove the plugs/caps from them and do the steps in paras. (2) thru (4).

 Use the TUBE - INSTALLATION FIXTURE, install tube (7) and torque tighten it to 0.68 m.daN (60.17 lbf.in).

 (3)
 Install the new gasket (5) (P/N 3846496-1) on the engine casing and align the bolt holes.

 (4)
 Install and locate tube (6) on tube (7). NOTE : The alignment tabs on the end of tube (6) must engage the

 slots of tube (7).

 Install the new packing (4) (P/N 561-515-0022) in vent fitting (3).

 (6)
 Install the new gasket (5) (P/N 3846496-1) on tube (6) and align the bolt holes.

 (7)
 Install vent fitting (3) and check valve (8) as one unit with washers

 (2) and bolts (1).

 (8)
 Connect tube (9) to check valve (8).

 (9)
 Hold the check valve (8) with a wrench to prevent torque transfer, TORQUE the tube (9) B-nut to between 5.31 and 5.76 m.daN (39.15 and

 42.47 lbf.ft).

 Install the new gasket (12) (P/N 3846496-1) on shield tube (17) and align the bolt holes.

 (11)
 Install the new packing (13) (P/N 561-515-0022) in the adapter assembly (14).

 (12)
 Install the adapter assembly (14) with washers (16) and bolts (15).

 (13)
 Install the tubes (21) in adapter (14).

 Install the tube retainers (20) on tubes (21) and secure with bolts (19).

 F. Do the Operational Test of the APU and do a Leak Check

 Do the operational Test of the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-710-004).

 Allow the APU to run for 5 minutes then check the exhaust for smoke. NOTE : No smoke is permitted.

 Select APU ECS mode, check for smoke/fumes in the cabin. NOTE : No smoke or oil fumes are permitted.

 Open the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).

 Examine vent fitting (3), check valve (8)/tube (9) connection, adapter assembly (14) and tubes (21) for oil leaks.

 NOTE : No leaks are permitted.
