(l)
Fill all the empty spaces between the support spacer and the shaft with the corrosion preventive compound.
(m)
Fill the top open area of the support bearing with grease.
(n)
Install the support on the shaft with the washer and nut.
(o)
Tighten the nut to 400-450 pound-inches.
(p)
Install the cotter pin.
(q)
Lubricate with grease through the lube fitting.

Install the linkage:
(a)
Put the support in its position.
(b)
Install the bolts, washers, and nuts (Fig. 401).
(c)
Connect the safety link to the outboard end of the reaction link with the spacer, bolt, washer and nut.
(d)
Connect the diagonal support to the structure with the bolt, washer, and nut.
(e)
Install the alignment pins between the support assemblies.
(f)
Install the rig pin A/S-4 through the aileron bus drum.
(g)
On system B, do these steps: 1) Install the rig pin A/S-3 in the shaft of the aileron control quadrant. 2) Connect the inboard end of the spring cartridge with the bolt, washer, nut and cotter pin. 3) Make sure the bolt moves freely with no compression on the spring cartridge.
4) Make sure the antirotation fork and the drain holes are down.
(h)
Install the cables ABSA and ABSB on the aileron bus drum.
(i)
Install the retaining plates with the screws, washers and nuts.
(j)
Connect the cables ABSA and ABSB at the turnbuckles.
1) Keep the cable tension at zero.
(k)
Adjust the turnbuckles for each bus cable.
(l)
Adjust the turnbuckles until the index point B (on the aileron inboard end) aligns vertically with the index point A (on the adjacent wing structure) to +/- 0.03 inch (Fig. 403).
(m)
Adjust the cables to the specified tension (Fig. 402).
(n)
Install the turnbuckle clip locks.
(o)
Remove the rig pins A/S-3 and A/S-4.

Do this task: "Aileron Power Control Units Installation" (Ref 27-11-71/401).
(5)
Manually operate the aileron control wheel.
