(d) Make sure the maximum torque to turn the bearing housing around the shaft is 3-5 pound-inches (0.3-0.6 newton meters).

(2) Do this task if you install used bolts, bushings, bearings or other components: "Aileron Body Quadrant Inspection/Check" (Ref 27-11-91/601).

(3) Install the shaft of the aileron body quadrant into the bearing housing.

(4) Do this task to apply a fillet seal between the bearing housing and the pressure deck: "Fillet Seal Application" (Ref 51-31-00/201).

(5) Install the aileron body quadrant (Fig. 401): (a) Find and move the shaft of the aileron body quadrant through the pressure deck. (b) Engage the aileron body quadrant with the shaft. (c) Install the four mounting bolts through the pressure deck and the bearing housing. (d) Install the bolts with the washer and locknut. (e) Tighten the locknut to 20-25 pound-inches. (f) Make sure the sealant on the seal disk at the top of the shaft is not damaged. 1) If it is damaged, apply cement to the shaft shoulder and push the seal disk down on the shaft shoulder. (g) Put the aileron body quadrant in its position. (h) Install the bolts, washers, and nuts to attach the aileron body quadrant to the shaft. (i) Tighten the nuts to 30-35 pound-inches.

(6) Do this task: "Aileron Artificial Feel, Centering and Trim Mechanism Installation" (Ref 27-11-81/401).

(7) S 434-010Connect the cables AA and AB to the aileron control quadrant.
(8) S 034-009Remove the clamps.
(9) S 434-011Install the cable retaining plate.

Prepare the cables AA and AB for installation:
(a)
Put the captain's and the first officer's aileron control wheels in the neutral position.
(b)
With a clamp, install the straightedge across the top ends of the two aileron control wheels.
(c)
Make sure one end of the first officer's control wheel is not more than 0.20 inch from the straightedge.
(d)
Make sure the aileron control system is at the center.
NOTE: The roller is in the center of the cam detent when the
____ aileron trim system is at the center.
(e) Remove the rig pin A/S-4.
