(c)  
Attach a straightedge across the top ends of the captain's and first officer's control wheels (Fig. 503).

 NOTE: One end of the first officer's control wheel cannot be
____ farther than 0.20 inch from the straightedge.
 (d)  
Remove the bolts that attach the clamps to the support brackets (Fig. 503).

 (e)  
Remove the shields.

 (f)  
Use a cable tensiometer to do a check of the cable tension.

 (g)  
Make sure the cable tension is as specified (Fig. 501).

 1)  If the cable tension is more than the specified limits, adjust the cable tension: a) Install the rig pin A/S-1A in the bottom of the first
 officer's aileron control wheel. b) Adjust the cables ACBA and ACBB to the specified limits (Fig. 501).

 c) Remove the rig pin A/S-1A.
 NOTE: The rig pin A/S-1A must be easy to remove.

 d) Move the control wheels to the neutral position. e) Make sure that the top ends of the control wheels touch the straightedge.
 NOTE: One end of the first officer's control wheel
____ cannot be farther than 0.20 inch from the straightedge.
 f) Install the turnbuckle clip locks.
 (h)  Install the cable shields and clamps.

 (2)  
Adjust the aileron control cables AA and AB:

 (a)  
Remove all the rig pins.

 (b)  
Move the control wheels to the neutral position.

 (c)  
With a clamp, attach a straightedge across the top ends of the two control wheels.

 NOTE: One end of the first officer's control wheel cannot be
____ farther than 0.20 inch from the straightedge.
 (d)  
Make sure that the aileron trim system is at the center.

 (e)  
Make sure that the trim roller is correctly installed against the cam detent.

 (f)  
Tighten the right and left AA and AB cables to the specified tension (Fig. 501).

 (g)  
Remove the straightedge from the control wheels.

 (h)  
Turn the aileron control wheel through a minimum of two cycles.

 (i)  
Install the rig pins A/S-1, A/S-1A, A/S-3 and A/S-15.

 NOTE: You must put the rig pin A/S-1 fully in the transfer
____ mechanism. Hold the rig pin A/S-1 to make sure it does not fall out of its hole.
 (j)  
Make sure that the tension in the right and left AA and AB cables is as specified (Fig. 501).

 (k)  
Install the turnbuckle clip locks.

 (l)  
Remove all the rig pins.

Adjust the cables AA, AB, ACBA and ACBB (Optional Procedure):

 (a)  
With a clamp, attach a straightedge to the two aileron control wheels in the neutral position.

 (b)  
Put the aileron trim system at the center.

 (c)  
All at the same time, install the rig pins A/S-1, A/S-1A, A/S-3 and A/S-15.

 (d)  Make sure that the trim roller is correctly installed against
 the cam detent.
 (e)  Make sure that the tension in cables AA and AB is as specified
 (Fig. 501).
 1) If the tension of cables AA and AB is not as specified,
 adjust the cables.
 2) Adjust the cables AA and AB until you can install rig pin
 A/S-1 in the center of its hole with rig pin A/S-3
 installed.
 (f)  Make sure that you can easily install and remove the rig pins
 A/S-1, A/S-3 and A/S-15.
 (g)  Make sure the tension in cables ACBA and ACBB is as specified
