(c) Loosen the check nut [52] on the linkage (Figure 503).
NOTE: You may have to turn the control wheel past 30.5 degrees to turn the check nut or
adjustment screw.
(d) Turn the adjustment screw [51] to adjust the actuator linkage.
NOTE: A 1/4 turn of the adjustment screw will change the panel position by
approximately 0.75 degrees.
(e) Tighten the check nut [52] on the linkage.
(f) Turn the contol wheel to neutral and back to 30.0 ± 0.5 degrees counterclockwise.
(g) Make sure the spoilers No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 are extended to the positions shown in Table 502.
NOTE: Each spoiler has a different full-down position. The measurements in the table
need to be made from that position.

(3) Check the adjustment of the spoiler actuator linkages for spoilers No. 8, 9, 10 and 11.
(a) Turn the captain’s aileron control wheel fully counterclockwise to make sure the spoilers
No. 8, 9, 10 and 11 are in the fully retracted position.
(b) Turn the control wheel 30.0 +/- 0.5 degrees clockwise from the neutral position.
NOTE: Do not turn the control wheel past 30.5 degrees. If you do this, return the control
wheel to neutral and move the control wheel slowly to 30.0 +/- 0.5 degrees again.
1) Make sure the spoilers No. 8, 9, 10, 11 are extended to the positions shown in Table 503.

(4) If the spoilers panel positions are not in the specified limits, adjust the linkage for spoilers No. 8,
9, 10, and 11.
(a) Do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
(b) Hold the control wheel 30.0 +/- 0.5 degrees clockwise from the neutral position.
(c) Loosen the check nut [52] on the linkage (Figure 503).
NOTE: You may have to turn the control wheel past 30.5 degrees to turn the check nut or
adjustment screw.
(d) Turn the adjustment screw [51] to adjust the actuator linkage.
NOTE: A 1/4 turn of the adjustment screw will change the panel position by
approximately 0.75 degrees.
(e) Tighten the check nut [52] on the linkage.
(f) Turn the contol wheel to neutral and back to 30.0 ± 0.5 degrees counterclockwise.
(g) Make sure the spoilers No. 8, 9, 10, and 11 are extended to the positions shown in
Table 503.
NOTE: Each spoiler has a different full-down position. The measurements in the table
need to be made from that position.

(5) Check the spoiler symmetry at partial speedbrake extension.
(a) Move the control wheel to the neutral position.
(b) Move the speedbrake lever until spoiler No. 3 or No. 4 is up 15 ± 0.5 degrees.
(c) Make sure spoilers No. 4 and No. 9 align in the limit of ± 0.5 degree.
(d) If spoilers No. 4 and No. 9 do not align, do these steps:
1) Loosen the check nut [52] on the spoiler you will adjust.
2) Turn the adjustment screw [51] to adjust the spoiler panel position to align the spoilers.
NOTE: A 1/4 turn of the adjustment screw will change the panel position by
approximately 0.75 degrees.
3) Tighten the check nut [52].
4) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN postition.
5) If you adjusted spoiler No. 4, turn the control wheel to 30.0 ± 0.5 degrees
counterclockwise from the neutral position.
a) Make sure the position of spoiler No. 4 is within the limit of Table 502.
6) If you adjusted spoiler No. 9, turn the control wheel to 30.0 ± 0.5 degrees clockwise
from the neutral position.
a) Make sure the position of spoiler No. 9 is within the limit of Table 503.
7) If the spoiler angle is not within the limits, repeat the linkage adjustment and partial
speedbrake extension check until both requirements are met.
(e) Make sure spoilers No. 5 and No. 8 align in the limit of ± 0.5 degree.
(f) If spoilers No. 5 and No. 8 do not align, do these steps:
1) Loosen the check nut [52] on the spoiler you will adjust.
