FLIGHT SPOILER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the flight spoilers.
(2) An installation of the flight spoilers.
B. This procedure is applicable to the left and right flight spoilers.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS
CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: Speed Brake Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization,
TASK 27-62-00-800-801.

(3) Do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.

(4) Put the speed brake lever in the UP position to lift the spoilers.

(5) Install the set, SPL-1745 on the actuator for the applicable flight spoiler.

(6) Do this task: Remove Pressure from the Speed Brake Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-62-00-800-802.
E. Flight Spoiler Removal
SUBTASK 27-61-11-020-001
(1) For flight spoiler no. 2 [1]:
(a) Remove the nut [26], washer [25], washer [24] and bolt [23].
(b) Remove the nut [22], washer [21] and pin [20] that attach the rod end of the spoiler actuator
assembly [27] to flight spoiler no. 2 [1].
(c) Remove the nut [6] and washers [5] to disconnect the bonding jumper [13] from the
structure.
(d) Remove the nut [29] and washers [28] to disconnect the bonding jumper [30] from the
structure.
(e) Remove pin [12], nut [11], washer [10], bushing [9], washer [8] and bolt [7].
(f) Remove pin [19], nut [18], washer [17], bushing [16], washer [15] and bolt [14].
(g) Remove pin [36], nut [35], washer [34], bushing [33], washer [32] and bolt [31].
(h) Remove flight spoiler no. 2 [1] from the airplane.

(2) For flight spoiler no. 3 [2], spoiler no. 4 [3] or spoiler no. 5 [4]:
(a) Remove the nut [58], washer [57], washer [56] and bolt [55].
(b) Remove the nut [54], washer [53] and pin [52] that attach the rod end of the spoiler actuator
[59] to the flight spoiler.
(c) Remove the nut [38] and washers [37] to disconnect the bonding jumper [45] from the
structure.
(d) Remove the nut [67] and washers [66] to disconnect the bonding jumper [68] from the
structure.
(e) Disconnect the aft end of the control rod for the spoiler position sensor from the flight
spoiler no. 3 [2]. To disconnect it, do this task: Spoiler Position Sensor Removal,
TASK 27-61-04-000-801.
