(1) Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.

(2) Make sure you can easily install the rig pin S/B-2 from the test set rig pin kit, SPL-1585 in the
speed brake quadrant.
(a) Remove the rig pin S/B-2 from the test set rig pin kit, SPL-1585 from the speed brake
quadrant.

(3) Connect the control rod [5] to the spoiler mixer [1]:
(a) Put the control rod [5] in the position where you can connect the fixed rod end to the control
rod output lever [22].
(b) Install the bolt [23] with the head to the side of the spoiler mixer [1].
(c) Install the washer [24], washer [25], and nut [26] on the bolt [23].

(4) Install the spoiler mixer [1]:
(a) Connect the couplings [27] and coupling [18] to the ratio changer [32]:
1) Put the couplings [27] in position on the ratio changer [32].
2) Install the bolts [28], washers [29] and nuts [30]. Do not tighten the nuts [30].
3) Put the coupling [18] in position on the ratio changer [32].
4) Install the bolts [19], washers [20] and nuts [21]. Do not tighten the nuts [21].

(b) Install coupling [34] on the spoiler mixer [1]:
1) Make sure the end of the coupling [34] with the bolt [35] is on the aileron input shaft on
the spoiler mixer [1].
2) Install the bolt [34] on the outboard side of the aileron input shaft with the head up.
3) Install the washer [36] and nut [37] on the bolt [35]. Do not tighten the nut [35].
(c) Put the spoiler mixer [1] in its position and engage the couplings [27], coupling [18],
coupling [34] and the mounting studs [4].
(d) Make sure the control rod [5] aligns with the ground spoiler control valve lever [11].
(e) Attach the spoiler mixer [1] to the four mounting studs [4]:
1) Install the washers [3] and the nuts [2].
2) Tighten the nuts [2] to 50-70 pound-inches (5.6-7.9 newton-meters).
(f) Tighten the nuts [30] on the couplings [27] to 50-70 pound-inches (5.6-7.9 newton-meters).
(g) Tighten the nuts [21] on the couplings [18] to 50-70 pound-inches (5.6-7.9 newton-meters).
(h) Tighten the nut [37] on the coupling [34] to 50-70 pound-inches (5.6-7.9 newton-meters).

(5) Attach the control rod [5] to the ground spoiler control valve lever [11]:
(a) Align the control rod [5] hole until you can install the bolt [6].
(b) Install the washer [7], washer [8], nut [9], cotter pin [10], and bolt [6].

(6) Install the aileron spring cartridge [17]:
(a) Make sure the rig pins A/S-3 and A/S-4 from the test set rig pin kit, SPL-1585 are installed.
(b) Connect the aileron spring cartridge [17] to the aileron input crank [16]:
1) Install the bolt [12], washer [13], washer [14], and nut [15] to attach the aileron spring
cartridge [17] to the aileron input crank [16].

(7) Remove all of the rig pins.

(8) Do this task: Spoiler Mixer Adjustment, TASK 27-61-00-820-805.

(9) Do this task: Flight Spoiler System Test (Alternate Method), TASK 27-61-00-000-801.
