 Install the bolt (33), the washers (32) and (31), the bonding strap (30), the washer (29) and the nut (28) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).

 Use a straight-edge to check:

 (a)
 That the flap and the tab trailing edges outboard of the track 2 position are aligned.

 (b)
 That the tab upper-surface contour and the flap trailing edge are aligned.

 If necessary, adjust the length of the rear strut (53) and turn the eccentric bolt (69) until the flap and tab are correctly aligned. To do this: (Ref. Fig. 415/TASK 27-54-61-991-029)

 (a)
 Remove and discard the lockwire from the nut (52).

 (b)
 Loosen the nut (52).

 (c)
 Remove the nut (57), the washers (55) and (50) and the bolt (49).

 (d)
 Loosen the nut (63).

 (e)
 Adjust the length of the rear strut (53) and turn the eccentric bolt (69) as necessary, until the tab and flap are aligned. This is when:

 -
the flap and the tab trailing edges outboard of the track 2 position are aligned

 -
the tab upper-surface contour and the flap trailing edge are aligned.

 Install the bolt (49), the washers (50) and (55) and the nut (57).

 Do a check through the safety hole and make sure that the threads of the eye-end (51) are in safety.

 Tighten the nut (52) and safety with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).

 TORQUE the nut (57) to between 2.2 and 2.4 m.daN (16.22 and 17.69 lbf.ft) and safety with the new cotter pin (56).

 TORQUE the nut (63) to between 2.2 and 2.4 m.daN (16.22 and 17.69 lbf.ft) and safety with the new cotter pin (62).

 Install the toothplate (68) on the eccentric bolt (69).

 Install the screw (65), the washer (66) and the nut (67).

 TORQUE the nut (67) to between 0.6 and 0.7 m.daN (53.09 and 61.94 lbf.in).

 Connect the bonding strap (60) with the bolt (61), the washer (59) and the nut (58) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-004).

 Install the sliding bushes (6) and (12).

 Put the eye-ends (3) and (16) of the struts (5) and (18) in position.

 Temporarily install the bolts (1) and (10).

 (a) That the tab upper-surface contour and the flap trailing edge are aligned.

 If necessary, adjust the length of the struts (5) and (18) until the flap and the tab are correctly aligned:

 Remove the bolts (1) and (10).

 Remove and discard the lockwire from the nuts (4) and (17).

 Loosen the nuts (4) and (17).

 Adjust the length of the struts (5) and (18) as necessary.

 Hold the tab and remove the DISTANCE GAUGES from the hinge 1A and the track 2 positions.

 Move the tab (by hand) through its full range of movement and check that it is free to move.

 Push the tab to its fully retracted position and install the DISTANCE GAUGES.

 At the hinge 1A position, connect the tab drive control-rod (45): (Ref. Fig. 414/TASK 27-54-61-991-027)
