(a)
Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN detent.
1) Make sure the lever latch is in the detent on the control stand.
(b)
Make sure the indicator on the aft part of the speed brake lever aligns with the center of the DOWN indicator on the control stand. 1) If the indicators do not align, adjust the position of the
indicator plate:
a) Loosen the screws on the indicator plate.
b) Move the plate until it aligns with the indicator on
the speed brake lever.
c) Tighten the screws.
(c)
Remove the access panel from the left side of the control stand forward and below the stabilizer trim wheel.
(d)
Disconnect the detent spring from the cam roller lever arm.
(e)
Install the rig pin S/B-1 in the forward quadrant.
(f)
Loosen the bolts on the bracket for the cam roller lever arm.
(g)
Adjust the bracket until the roller aligns with the index mark on the detent cam.
(h)
Tighten the bolts on the bracket.
(i)
Connect the detent spring to the cam roller lever arm.
(j)
Remove the rig pin S/B-1.
(k)
Move the speed brake lever aft until the roller on the cam lever is in the ARMED detent.
(l)
Make sure the indicator on the aft part of the speed brake lever aligns with the ARMED indicator on the control stand. 1) If the indicator does not align, move the speed brake lever
until the aft part of the lever aligns with the center of
the ARMED indicator on the indicator plate.
2) Loosen the bolts on the bracket for the lever arm.
3) With the control lever aligned with the ARMED indicator,
move the roller to the center of the armed detent.

4) Tighten the bolts on the bracket for the lever arm.
(m)
Move the speed brake lever aft until the roller on the cam lever is in the FLIGHT detent.
(n)
Make sure the indicator on the aft part of the speed brake lever aligns with the FLIGHT indicator on the control stand.
(o)
If the indicator does not align, adjust the position of the roller again.
(p)
Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position, then to the UP position.
(q)
Make sure the speed brake lever moves a minimum of 48 degrees for the full travel.
(r)
If the speed brake lever does not move through the full travel, adjust the speed brake full travel stop on the spoiler ratio changer (Ref 27-62-00/501).
(s)
Install the access panel on the control stand.

Do the functional test for the speed brake forward drum and lever brake (Ref 27-62-21/501).

Install the left forward access panel in the nose wheel well.

Close the forward access door.
