Install the rig pins A/S-4 and A/S-3.

 (b)  
Supply the systems A and B hydraulic power (Ref 27-61-00/201).

 (c)  
Make sure you can easily install the bolt to attach the rod end to the aileron input crank.

 (d)  
If you cannot easily install the bolt without movement in the spring cartridge, adjust the rod: 1) Loosen the checknut on the rod end.

 2) Turn the rod end until you can easily install the bolt. 3) Tighten the checknut to 10-20 pound inches. 4) Install the lockwire on the checknut.
 (e)  
Connect the aileron spring cartridge to the aileron input crank: 1) Make sure the drain holes on the spring cartridge are down. 2) Make sure the antirotation fork is on the lower side of the

 clevis on the crank. 3) Install the bolt with the head up. 4) Install the spacer, washer and nut on the bolt.

 (f)  
Remove the systems A and B hydraulic power (Ref 27-61-00/201).

 (g)  
Remove the rig pin A/S-4.

 (7)  
Connect the input rod for the ratio changer to the upper control crank:

 (a)  
Install the rig pin A/S-14 in the spoiler mixer.

 (b)  
Make sure you can easily install the bolt in the rod end.

 (c)  
If you cannot easily install the bolt, adjust the length of the rod: 1) Loosen the checknut on the input rod. 2) Adjust the rod end until you can easily install the bolt in

 the rod end.
 3) Tighten the checknut on the rod end.

 (d)  
Install the bolt to attach the input rod to the upper control crank.

 NOTE: Install the bolt in the upper control crank with the
____
 head up.

 (e)  
Install the washer and nut on the bolt.

 (f)  
Remove the rig pin A/S-14.

 (8)  
Attach the spoiler control quadrant to the quadrant shaft:

 (a)  
Install the two bolts to attach the quadrant to the quadrant shaft.

 (b)  
Install the washers and locknuts on the bolts.

 (c)  
Tighten the bolts to 30-35 pound-inches.

 S 394-017
 (9)  
Examine the sealant on the seal disk at the top of the quadrant shaft for damage.

 (a)  
If the seal disk has damage, apply the adhesive to the shoulder of the shaft.

 (b)  Push the seal disk tightly on the shoulder of the shaft.

 Connect the right aileron control cables AA and AB:

 (a)  
Use the cable retaining plates to attach the cables to the cable quadrant.

 (b)  
Connect the cables at the turnbuckles in the lower nose compartment.

 (c)  
Remove the cable clamps from the cables.

 (d)  
Remove the rig pins A/S-1, A/S-1A and A/S-3.

 (e)  
Put the aileron in the neutral position.

 NOTE: The ailerons are in the neutral position when you can
____ easily install the rig pin A/S-4 in the aileron bus drums.
 (f)  
Install a straightedge across the top of the aileron control wheels to put them in the neutral position. 1) The end of one control wheel can be 0.20 inch from the

 straightedge.

 (g)  
Adjust the tension in the cables to the limits shown in Fig. 401.

 (h)  
Turn the captain's aileron control wheel through more than one full cycles.

 (i)  
Do a check of the adjustment of the cables: 1) Make sure you can easily install the rig pins A/S-1, A/S-1A and A/S-3.

 2)  Make sure all of the rig pins can be installed at the same time.
