 (2)  Examine the window frame (10) to find if it is necessary to do this step for the fairing compound (8):
 (a)  Repair or replace the pressure seal (9).
 NOTE: The spacer (2) will crush the fairing compound (8) on
____ the structure locally around the end of the spacer. You can not repair the compound after the window installations. Do not include the area that is attached with the end of the spacer (2). If the fairing compound (8) is cracked, chipped, broken away, or damaged, you can repair it as described in AMM 56-11-00/801. Replacement windows are given complete for the installation with the pressure seal (9) and the aluminum spacers (2).

 (3)  S 214-021-B00Do a visual check of the window post and sill for cracks and corrosion.
 (4)  S 954-013-B00Apply the protective tape cover to the two window surfaces.
 (5)  S 824-041-B00Align the tape with the edges of the glass panes.

 WARNING:_______BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE ALIPHATIC NAPHTHA. ALIPHATIC NAPHTHA IS FLAMMABLE AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (6)  
Clean the mating surfaces of the seal (9) and the external edge of window (1) and window frame (10) fully with the aliphatic naphtha.

Use a clean cheesecloth to apply the naphtha and a clean cheesecloth to rub the naphtha off.

 NOTE: Do not permit the naphtha to dry on the surface.

 (8)  Clean the surfaces until they are free of remaining film.
 NOTE: Do not cause damage to the mating surface.

Install the window assembly (1) in the window frame (10).

 Make sure that there is the same clearance between the external edge of the window and the fuselage outer skin.

 Make sure that the aluminum spacers (2) are put into the bolt holes in the window assembly (1).

 NOTE: Keep the spacers together by friction until you
____ install retaining bolts and attached nuts. Do not bond the spacers. The spacers must be free to move on bolts and in bolt holes in the window.

 F. Procedure - Install Window No. 4 or No. 5
 S 114-020-B00
 (1)  
Apply the corrosion preventive compound to the bolt shanks
 immediately before the installation.

 (2)  
Install the window in the frame.

 (3)  
Install the retaining bolts (3).

 (4)  
Install the O-rings (4) and the flat washers (5).

 NOTE: On thin window assemblies, you can use an additional nut
____ washer (AN960-D416), (6). Do this so the nut does not touch the area of the bolt that does not have threads.
