Remove the rugs from the passenger cabin aisle on the top of the viewer and open the viewer cover.

Move the WHEEL WELL light switch on the P5 panel to the ON position.

Make sure that you can see the left and right main landing gear downlock indicator in the mirrors.

Move the WHEEL WELL light switch (P5) - on the P5 panel to the OFF position.

Close the viewer cover.

Put the rugs in the passenger cabin aisle on the top of the viewer cover and use the tape to hold it in their position.

 NOSE GEAR DOWNLOCK VIEWER - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains four tasks:
 (1)  
The first task is to remove the nose gear viewer assembly.

 (2)  
The second task is to install the nose gear viewer assembly.

 (3)  
The third task is to examine and do a check to the nose gear viewer assembly.

 (4)  
The fourth task is to clean the window.

 B.  The nose gear downlock viewer window will be known as the viewer window.
 C.  The viewer window is installed in the control cabin floor above the nose gear wheel well. Servicing is necessary to clean the upper surface of the upper window. The upper window is installed below the viewer cover. Servicing is also necessary to clean the outer surface of the lower window. The lower window is installed in the upper structure of the nose wheel well. If the windows become dirty on their inner sufaces, you must remove the windows to fully clean them.
 D.  AIRPLANES WITH 12 BOLTS ON THE LOWER TUBE; You can remove the upper window. To do this, you must remove the retention plate of the upper window which is installed on the floor of the control cabin. You can remove the lower window. To do this, you must remove the retention ring of the lower window which is installed on the top of the nose wheel well.
 E.  AIRPLANES PRE-SB 53-1109; You must remove and disassemble all of the viewer assembly to remove the upper or lower window for replacement or to clean it.
 F.  AIRPLANES PRE-SB 53-1109; You must remove and disassemble all of the viewer assembly to remove the upper or the lower window for replacement or to clean it.
 G.  AIRPLANES POST-SB 53-1109; They have the retention plate of the upper window but they do not have the retention ring of the lower window. Thus, it is necessary to remove all of the viewer assembly to remove the lower window.
