(i)  
Push the keyboard button K to read the temperature of the probe and push the button C or F for the type of the temperature indication.

 (j)  
Push the ENTR button.

 (k)  
Make sure the TEST INPUT display shows 2500.

 (l)  
Push the SET TEMP button on the keyboard. Make sure the CONTROL TEMP and DEGREES lights flash.

 WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT METAL PART OF THE HEATER PROBE WHEN
_______ THE PROBES ARE HOT. THE HOT HEATER PROBES CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS IF NOT HANDLED CORRECTLY OR NOT ALLOWED TO COOL SUFFICIENTLY.
 (m)  Push the numbered buttons on the keyboard for a temperature of approximately 165 deg F (73.9 deg C).
 NOTE: This temperature selection will let the heat probe
____ stabilize at a temperature slightly below the nominal close temperature. After the probe is stablized, you can gradually increase the temperature of the probe until the switch closes.

 (n)  
Push the ENTR button.

 (o)  
Make sure the HEAT ON light comes on and the probe temperature increases.

 (p)  
Make sure that as the HEATER TEMP display nears or reaches the CONTROL TEMP display, the HEAT ON light flashes to indicate the probe is near the set temperature.

 (q)  
Allow the heat probe to stabilize at this temperature.

 (r)  
Slowly increase the temperature of of the heat probe until the SWITCH CLOSED light comes on.

 (s)  
Make sure the HEATER TEMP is between 171 deg F and 203 deg F

 (77.2 deg C and 95 deg C).

 (t)  
Make sure the SYS FAULT light on the ZONE RST switch on the P5 overhead panel comes on.

 (u)  
Decrease the probe temperature back to the ambient temperature and allow the probe to cool down.

 (v)  
Make sure that the SYS FAULT light goes off when you push the ZONE RST switch.

 (6)  With the H394 TESTER, do the steps that follow:
 (a)  Set the thumbwheel switches to a test temperature of
 approximately 165 deg F (73.9 deg C).

 NOTE: This temperature selection will let the heat probe

 NOTE: The decimal point in the deg C display will burn
____ steadily as the probe heats and the rising temperature of the probe will be displayed. When the tester is off, wait at least 5 seconds before you turn the power on again, to prevent microprocessor lockup.
 (c)  
Allow the heat probe to stabilize at the temperature set on the thumbwheel switch.

 (d)  
Gradually increase the thumbwheel setting until the SWITCHED CLOSED light comes on.

 (e)  
Make sure that the thumbwheel setting is between 171 deg F and 203 deg F (77.2 deg C and 95 deg C).
