E. Install the Turbine Bypass Valve

Remove the covers from the duct openings.

Make sure that the two seals are in the correct position in the duct flange groove (Fig. 401, detail A).

Put the turbine bypass valve between the duct openings.
NOTE: The airflow arrow on the turbine bypass valve must point in

the forward direction (downstream).

Make sure that the two seals are in the correct position in the duct flange grooves.

Put the clamps around the ducts and the flanges of the turbine bypass valve, and install the clamp nuts loosely.

Turn the turbine bypass valve until it is in the initial position before you removed it.

Tighten the clamp nuts to 65 - 75 pound-inches
(7.35 - 8.47 newton-meters).

(8) To connect the bonding jumpers to the valve, do these steps:
(a) Use the solvent and the cheesecloth to clean and dry the bonding surfaces (AMM 20-11-14/701).
NOTE: The bonding surfaces must be clean and dry to
____ provide a good electrical ground path.
(b)
Connect the bonding jumpers to the turbine bypass valve.
(c)
Use the bonding meter to measure the resistance between each bonding jumper terminal and the turbine bypass valve near the bonding jumper connection. (AMM 20-22-01/601).
NOTE: If necessary, you can remove a small area of the
____ surface finish to make the measurement.
(d)
If the resistance between the bonding jumper terminal and the valve actuator is greater than 0.0025 ohms, then disassemble that bonding jumper connection, repeat the cleaning and assembly steps, and measure the resistance again.
(e)
If the resistance between the bonding jumper terminal and the valve body is greater than 0.010 ohms, then disassemble that bonding jumper connection, repeat the cleaning and assembly steps, and measure the resistance again.
(f)
If you removed any of the surface finish from the turbine bypass valve, then use the alodine to repair the surface finish.

(9) Connect the electrical connector to the turbine bypass valve:
(a)
For the pack 1,
Connect the electrical connector, DV102.
(b)
For the pack 2,
Connect the electrical connector, DV103.
(c)
For the pack 3,
Connect the electrical connector, DV104.
F. Do a Test of the Turbine Bypass Valve
