Procedure

 (1)  
Do this task if you will install used hinge bolts or bushings: "Ground Spoiler Inspection" (AMM 27-62-01/601).

Install the spoiler (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Apply a thin layer of the grease to the bolts that attach the control package and the hinges.

 (b)  
If it is necessary, install the seal plates (2) and the captive bearings (13) on the two hinges No. 1.

 (c)  
Put the spoiler in its position.

 (d)  
Install the four hinge bolts (7, 16, and 22) with the heads outboard, the washers (6, 15, and 17) and the bushings (5 and 20). 1) If it is necessary, install the antirotation washer (21)

 with the bolt (26), spacer (25), washer (24) and nut (23) on hinge No. 3.

 (e)  
Install the washers (19), and nuts (18) at hinges No. 2 and 3. 1) Tighten the nut to 700-900 pound-inches (79-101 N-m). 2) Loosen the nut to align the nearest cotter pin hole. 3) Install the cotter pin.

 (f)  
Install the washers (6) and nuts (12) at the two hinges No. 1. 1) Tighten the nuts (12) to 100-200 pound-inches (12-22 N-m). 2) Loosen the nut to align the nearest cotter pin hole. 3) Make sure the torque on the nut is not less than 100

 pound-inches (12 N-m).
 4) Install the cotter pin.

 (g)  
Clean the mating surfaces for the bonding jumper.

 (h)  
Install the two bonding jumpers (11) at the hinges No. 1 with the bolts (8), washer (9), and nut (10).

 (i)  
Use the milliohmmeter to make sure the resistance of the bonding jumper connection is less then 0.010 ohms.

 (j)  
Manually move the spoiler to do a check of the friction in the hinges.

 (k)  
If it is necessary, install the antirotation plate (27) with the bolt (35), washers (28), and nut (29).

 NOTE: Do not tighten the nut (29) until you install the
____
 bolt (30).

 (l)  Attach the control package (32) to the spoiler (1): 1) Install the bolt (30), bushings (31), washer (34), and nut (33). 2) Tighten the nut (33) to 1200-1500 pound-inches (136-169
 N-m) above the run-on torque. 3) If it is necessary, tighten the nut (29).

Do this task to lubricate the spoiler hinges: "Spoiler Control System Lubrication" (AMM 12-21-21/301).

Remove the spoiler locking tool.

Remove the sling assembly from the spoiler.

Examine the Spoiler Clearances

 (1)  
Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4:
 "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (2)  
Put the speed brake lever in the DOWN position.

 (3)  
Make sure the clearance between the spoiler and the wing structure is 0.55 to 0.91 inch (13.97 to 23.11mm).

Make sure the clearance between all adjacent spoilers is 0.95 to

 1.05 inches (24.13 to 26.67).

If a clearance is not in the tolerance, adjust the spoiler:

 (a)  
Remove the bolt (16), washers (15, 17 and 19) and nut (18) at hinge No. 2.

 (b)  
Add or remove the washers (15) from the inboard side of the hinge to get the clearance in the tolerance.
