Connected to the remote processor unit via an RF cable,
the probe is mounted within the fuel/oil reservoir,
providing the wave guide for the electronic pulses. Can
be top mount-configured using the appropriate flange
interface or designed for internal mounting within the
tank via standard mounting clips.
Fluid probe (active)
An integrated design of wave guide and processing
electronics provides a discrete sensing system. There
are no limitations on wave guide configuration and
standard communications protocols such as CANbus,
ARINC 429, RS232/422 or resistive output are available.
Fluid quantity processor
Accommodating up to six fluid probes, the processor
sends a low-energy signal via an RF cable into the probe
wave guide and measures level via the reflection time of
the pulse from the fluid surface. The processor includes
self-diagnostics and will identify when faulty sensors
need replacing.
System architecture
The systems we have developed and certified for major
players in business aircraft include multiple sensors
per signal conditioner in a multiplexed architecture.
Next generation fluid gauging
Using echoes from high-speed electronic pulses transmitted down a
waveguide extended into the fuel or oil reservoir, the system locates the
fluid-to-air interface and provides the measured level via the pulse’s
return time. With no dependence on fluid characteristics, it can be used
in any fuel or oil and does not require specific calibration unlike existing
gauging technologies.

Technology (FAST), a non-invasive way of calculating
pressure and structural loads in composites without
damaging their integrity—or compromising accuracy.
This revolutionary air pressure
measurement system is designed for
easy, non-invasive installation that will
not affect the integrity of fibre-based
structures. We connect miniaturized and
temperature-compensated sensors,
mounting them on flex circuitry to form a
configurable array and provide data
through network communication
protocols. The flexible circuit design
includes an option for remote sensor
mounting in challenging installation
locations. Previous measurement
systems were limited to invasive cabling,
tubing, signal conditioners and data
acquisition products.
