A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
On the panel 25VU make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(2)
Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(3)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4)
Make sure that ground fire extinguishing equipment is available.
(5)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
(6)
Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(7)
Put an CABLE - SAFETY, APU GENERATOR on the generator to get a safe condition when you install the generator.
4. Procedure

A. Installation of the APU Generator
(1)
Examine the seal plate (7) and the seal (8) and (11), which are part of the seal plate.
(2)
Replace the seal plate (7) if you find:
-breaks and/or scratches on the seal plate,
-cuts on the seals (8) and/or (11),
-the height of the seals (8) and/or (11) above the seal plate is less then 0.25 mm (0.0098 in.).
(a)
Remove the countersunk screws (1) and the seal plate (7).
(b)
Lubricate the seals (8) and (11) of the new seal plate with a thin layer of OILS (Material No. 03-002)
(c)
Position the seal plate (7) with the seal (8) for the oil scavenge port in the 6 o'clock position on the flange of the APU generator (4).
NOTE : Make sure that the dowel pin (3) engages correctly with
____
the pilot hole (2).
(d)
Lubricate the countersunk screws (1) with OILS (Material No. 03-002).
(e)
Install the countersunk screws (1).
(3)
Lubricate the new packing (10) and the new seal (9) with a thin layer of OILS (Material No. 03-002)
(4)
Install the new seal (10) on the generator splined drive shaft.
(5)
Install the new preformed packing (9) on the generator mount flange.
(6)
Install the generator (4) over the nuts (15) and turn it clockwise to engage the slots.
(7)
Make sure that the dowel pin (3) fully engages in the mounting flange of the accessory drive gearbox.
(8)
TORQUE the nuts (15) to between 3.9 and 4.4 m.daN (28.76 and 32.44
lbf.ft).
(9)
TORQUE the nuts (15) behind the generator terminal with an ADAPTER -TORQUE (Ref. TASK 20-21-11-911-001).

_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(10)
Clean the nuts of the APU generator with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004).
(11)
Mark the tightened generator nuts with PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-020).
(12)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(13)
Connect the electrical connector (12) to the APU generator (4).
NOTE : Make sure that you connect the electrical cable connections
____
correctly to the APU generator terminal.
(14) Connect the electrical cables (20) with the washers (21) and the nuts
(19) to the APU generator (4) as follows:
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE WASHER IS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE PHASE
_______ LEADS AND THE TERMINAL NUT. IF NOT, THE TERMINAL BLOCK WILL BURN LOCALLY BECAUSE OF RESISTANCE HEATING.
