Put the end of the overflow drain hose (10) of the TANK - ENGINE OIL FILLING UP (DH13PM) in the container (9).

Do this step to depressurize the IDG case:
(a) Connect the overflow drain hose (10) of the TANK - ENGINE OIL FILLING UP (DH13PM) to the overflow drain valve (5).
NOTE : Some oil can come out of the overflow drain hose (10) of
____ the TANK - ENGINE OIL FILLING UP (DH13PM) when you connect it.

C. Replace the IDG oil filter(s) (Ref. TASK 24-21-51-000-041) and (Ref. TASK 24-21-51-400-041).

Remove the dust cap (3) from the pressure fill valve (7).
(2)
Connect the pressure fill hose (8) of the TANK - ENGINE OIL FILLING UP (DH13PM) to the pressure fill valve (7).
(3)
Use a pump to fill the IDG with filtered OILS (Material No. 03-002) until:
-the color of the oil that flows from the case drain is the same as
the color of the oil that you put into the IDG, - or until you collect 3.8 l (1 USgal) of oil from the case drain.

F. Installation of the Case Drain Plug
(1)
Install the new O-ring (2) on the case drain plug (1).
(2)
Install the case drain plug (1).
(3)
TORQUE the case drain plug (1) to between 55 and 75 lbf.in (0.62 and
0.84 m.daN).
(4)
Safety the case drain plug (1) with lockwire 0.032 in. (0.80 mm) dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire 0.032 in. (0.80 mm) dia. (Material No. CP8002).

G. Fill the IDG with oil or add oil to the IDG after a level check
(Ref. TASK 12-13-24-612-041).

H. Do dry motoring (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-710-001) and make sure that there are no oil leaks at the cover(s)of the IDG oil filter(s).
NOTE : We recommend that you do a visual inspection to make sure that
____ there are no oil leaks at the cover(s) of the IDG oil filter(s). Do this inspection at the subsequent engine start, at minimum idle (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-710-003).
At this time, the oil pressure in the lubrication system and the cooling system of the IDG is higher and the oil circulation time is longer.

J. Inspection of the Oil Level after Dry Motoring
(1)
Let the oil in the IDG become stable for 5 minutes.
(2)
Look at the oil level sight-glass of the IDG:
-
if the oil level is at or near the top of the green band, oil servicing is not necessary,
-
if the oil level is below the green band or above the green band, fill the IDG with oil or add oil to the IDG after a level check (Ref. TASK 12-13-24-612-041).

K. Inspection of the Oil Level after an Engine Start (Alternative Procedure)
(1)
Let the oil in the IDG become stable for 5 minutes.
(2)
Look at the oil level sight-glass of the IDG:
-
if the oil level is in the green or yellow band, oil servicing is not necessary,
-
if the oil level is below the green band or above the yellow band, fill the IDG with oil or add oil to the IDG after a level check (Ref. TASK 12-13-24-612-041).
