 2) Make sure the movement of the chain assembly (10) is
 0.25 +/-0.07 inch.
 (b)  
If it is necessary, adjust the support links to get the correct chain movement.

 (c)  
Measure the eyebolt thread extension or dimension A to adjust the support links for the necessary chain deflection. 1) Measure the eyebolt thread extension.

 a) On the forward support link, measure the length of the
 eyebolt thread extension above the adjustable nuts.
 b) On the aft support link, measure the length of the two

 eyebolts thread extension below the adjustable nuts. c) Make sure that the three thread extensions are the same within 0.12 inch. 2) Measure the A dimensions of the support links:
 a)  On the aft support links (11), measure from the center of the aft support bolts to the threaded stud on the left and right aft support links.
 b)  On the forward support link (12), measure from the center of the mounting bolt to the center the bolt through the lower end of the eyebolt.
 c)  Make sure the three dimensions are the same in | 0.06 inch.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT TIGHTEN THE NUT MORE THAN 60 POUND-INCHES. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRUM FLANGES.
 (9)  
Attach the STA cable eye in the slot in the bottom of the drum (4).

 Turn the trim control wheel to wind the STA cable 28-1/2 turns on the front drum (4).

 (a)  
Pull the STB cable tight while it winds on the rear drum and the STA cable winds on the front drum.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT TIGHTEN THE NUT MORE THAN 60 POUND-INCHES. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRUM FLANGES.

 Attach the STB cable:

 (a)  
Wind the STB cable approximately 4-1/2 turns on the front drum.

 (b)  Attach the STB cable to the cable drum (4).
 1)  Put a 50 pound load on the trim control wheel to pull on the STA cable.
 NOTE: This will make the installation of the STB cable
____
 easier.

 (12) Adjust the support link eyebolts to loosen the chain.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU ADJUST THE CABLE TENSION BEFORE THE FINAL
_______ ADUSTMENT OF THE CHAIN. IF THE CABLE TENSION IS NOT CORRECT, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABLE AND THE CHAIN.

 Adjust the turnbuckle (7) to get correct tension for the cable (Fig. 402).

 Adjust the tension in the chain assembly (10) (Fig. 401):

 (a)
Push against the chain assembly (10) with a 5 pound force.

 1)  Make sure the force is approximately 4.5 +/-1.0 inches from where the chain touches the forward trim mechanism sprocket (9).
 2)  Make sure the movement of the chain assembly (10) is
 0.25 +/-0.07 inch.
 (b)  
If it is necessary, adjust the support links to get the correct chain movement.

 (c)  
Measure the A dimensions of the support links:

 1)  On the aft support links, measured from the center of the aft support bolts to the threaded stud on the left and right aft support links.
 2)  On the forward support link, measure from the center of the mounting bolt to the center of the bolt through the lower end of the eyebolt.
 3)  Make sure the 3 dimensions are the same in 0.06 inch.

 Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) STABILIZER TRIM ACTUATOR

 (b)  
P18-0 Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) AUTOPILOT STABILIZER TRIM SERVO

 (16)
 Move the stabilizer to full travel in the two directions and then move the cable to the center of the cable drum.

 (a)  
Make sure that the system operates freely in the two directions through full travel.
