 (m)  Install the left flap position transmitter (Fig. 506): 1) Apply a layer of the grease to the splines on the input
 shaft. 2) Put the transmitter in its position on the gearbox.
 NOTE: Make sure the two pointers stay aligned.

 3) Apply a layer of the primer to the bolts and washers. 4) With the primer wet, install the bolts and washers to attach the transmitter to the gearbox.
 5)  Make sure the bonding resistance between the transmitter and the gearbox is not more than 0.0025 ohm (SWPM 20-20-00).

Release the asymmetry test switch. 1) Make sure the asymmetry test light is off. 2) Make sure the flap bypass valve moves to the position 1.

 At each flap transmission, measure the angular clearance between the upstops on the ballscrew nut and the ballscrew yoke (Fig. 505).

Make sure the clearance is 170 to 190 degrees (1/2 turn |10 degrees).

At the No. 4 transmission, measure and make a record of the dimension X. Refer to this as the dimension X1.

At the No. 4 transmission, measure the dimension X. Refer to this as the dimension X2.

 (d)  
Make a record of the dimension X2 in Table 501 (EXTEND column).
