 (5)  Adjust the clearance between the cable and the forward grommet.
 (a) Make sure the clearance between the cable STA and the forward
 grommet agrees with detail B, Fig. 501.
 NOTE: The forward grommet is installed at station 259.5 in____
 the bulkhead.
 (b) If the clearance is not in the limits, release the tension in
 the cable and the chain assembly:
 1) Adjust the forward and aft support links.
 2) Disconnect the chain assembly at the connector link.
 3) Add or remove the links from the chain on the outboard side
 of the chain.
 NOTE: A chain link is equal to 0.22 inch clearance at the____
 grommet.
 (c) If it is necessary, adjust the cables and the chain assembly.

 (6)  Make sure the clearance between the aileron control cable and the
 sprocket chain is not less than 0.75 inch.

 (7)  Adjust the position indicator:
 (a) Operate the stabilizer until the B dimension is 41.57 +/-0.05
 inches.
 1) If it is necessary, disconnect the flexible shaft (1) from
 the forward mechanism.
 2) Turn the flexible shaft until the stabilizer position
 indicator is at 3 +/- 1/4 units of trim.
 3) Connect the flexible shaft to the forward mechanism.
 4) Make sure the flexible shaft engages with the spline in the
 forward mechanism.
 5) Tighten the nut.

Open the access door 3701.

Make sure the control column is in the neutral position.

Do the stabilizer manual travel limits test:

 (a)  
Turn the captain's stabilizer trim wheel counterclockwise until the stabilizer trim jackscrew comes to its limit. 1) Make sure the B dimension is 45.84 +/-0.05 inches. 2) Make sure the two stabilizer trim indicators show

 0.0 +/-0.5 units of trim.
 (b)  Turn the captain's stabilizer trim wheel clockwise until it comes to its limit. 1) Make sure the B dimension is 21.32 +/-0.05 inches. 2) Make sure the two stabilizer trim indicators show
