 (c)  Examine the subsequent steps: 1) Make sure the load to start the T handle from the seat has a minimum of 6.5 pounds. 2) Make sure the full travel of the T handle is 14.4 to 16.1 inches.
 3)  Make sure the load during the full travel of the T handle is not more than 18.0 pounds.
 NOTE: The T handle must be pulled upward and forward when

 you measure the load.

 4)  Release the T handle.
 5)  Make sure the T handle goes back to its stowed position freely.
 (d)  Do the above steps for the manual extension T handle of the right main landing gear.

 MANUAL EXTENSION CONTROL MECHANISM - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General
_______
 A.  This procedure contains two tasks:
 (1)  
The removal of the control mechanism of the manual extension.

 (2)  
The installation of the control mechanism of the manual extension.

 B.  
The control mechanism of the manual extension gives controls for the manual extension system of the nose landing gear and each of the main landing gear.You must remove and install the complete mechanism when you do maintenance on the manual extension systems of the nose landing gear or each of the main landing gear.

 2.  Manual Extension Control Mechanism Removal (Fig. 401)

 A.  Procedure to Remove the Control Mechanism of the Manual Extension
 S 014-002
 (1)  
Remove the cabin floor panel (15).

 (a)  
Disconnect the cable MNGEA at turnbuckle.

 S 014-003
 (2)  
Remove the ceiling panels of the cargo compartment at approximately body station 420.

 (a)  
Disconnect the cables MLGEA-L and MLGEA-R at their trunbuckles.

 S 034-004
 (3)  
Disconnect the cables (2) of the manual extension handle from the control drums (10).

 S 034-005

 (4)  
Remove the cable retainers (1) and disconnect the control cables (14) from the control drums (10).

 S 034-006

 (5)  
Remove the grommet from the clip on the outboard cable guard and free elevator cable EAR (9) from control mechanism through slot in clip.

 (a)  
Release the elevator cable ear (9) from the control mechanism through the slot in the clip.

 S 034-007
 (6)  Remove the cotter pin (11), the nut (13), and the washer (12) from the shaft (4) and remove the shaft from the control mechanism.
 NOTE: When you do step F., be prepare to catch the spacer (7)
____ while you pull the shaft (4) from the control mechanism.

 (7)  Remove the bolt (5) which attach the inboard cable guard (6) to the support (3).
