 Install the cotter pin in each drag brace pin.

 Connect the actuator to the drag brace.

 (a)  
Move the upper link (2) into the forked terminal on the lower end of the actuator (1) to prepare for installation.

 (b)  
Move a nylon washer (5, 13) on each side of the swivel (14) between the swivel and the end of the actuator rod.

 (c)  
Put the special countersunk washer (4) on the bolt (3) with the countersink to the bolt head.

 (d)  
Insert the bolt through the end of the actuator rod, the drag brace swivel, and the nylon washers.

 (e)  
Install the plain washer (15) on the bolt (3) and install the nut.

 (f)  
Tighten the nut to 1500 - 1800 pound-inch.

 (g)  
Install the cotter pin.

 NOTE: If the cotter pin holes do not align with the specified
____ torque range, try another nut or add a plain washer below the countersunk washer. Use the two methods if it is necessary.

 Clean the drag brace pin (6), each spacer bushing (7, 9), and the inner surface of bushing in each lock link (8) fork arm with the solvent.

 (a)  
Lubricate the outside of the drag brace pin, the inside of the fork arm bushings, and all surfaces of spacer bushings with MIL-PRF-23827 or the preferred grease BMS 3-33 (AMM 12-20-00/301).

 (15) Install the drag brace pin (6).
 (a)  Move the lower link (10) into the fork of the upper link (2).
 (b)  Install the drag brace pin from the left to the right.
 NOTE:____ The flat edge of the pin head must match the recess in #
 the upper link.
 (c)  Install the center washer (12) with the raised portion matching
 recess in upper link.

 Clean the bolt (11) with the solvent.

Apply a thin layer of Mastinox to the bolt (11).

Tigthen the nut to 300 - 400 pound-inch.
