Procedure

 S 784-034
 (1)  Pressurize the hydraulic system A (AMM 29-15-00, MP).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE GROUND LOCK ASSEMBLIES IN THE MAIN
_______ LANDING GEAR TO PREVENT ACCIDENTIAL OPERATION OF THE GEAR. THIS WILL CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENTS IF THE GEAR RETRACTS.
 (2)  
Retract the nose landing gear.

 (a)  
Set the door for the installation.

 S 424-037
 (3)  
Install the bolts (18) with the washer (17) under the head in the forward and aft the hinges.

 (a)  
Install the nut on each bolt with the cotter pin.

 (b)  
Close the door with your hand and adjust the forward and the aft stops.

 NOTE: You must adjust the stops until the outer surface of the
____ door aligns with the fuselage skin correctly. The outer surface of the door must be less than 0.03 inch above the fuselage skin. The outer surface of the door must also be less than 0.06 inch below the fuselage skin. The clearance between the door and the inboard edge of the fuselage must be less than 0.06 inch.
 (c)  
Correct the clearances for the door adjustment.

 (4)  
Remove the bolts (20) from the forward hinge bracket (12).

 NOTE: The plate nuts (24) are on the opposite side of the bulkhead
____ from the hinge bracket (12) for the mounting bolts.
 S 034-002
 (5)  
Remove the shims or add the correct thickness of the shims (23) below the bracket plate (22) of the forward hinge.

 (a)  
Adjust the door for a clearance of 0.20 +0.05/-0.02 inch between the outboard edge of the door and the fuselage skin.

 (b)  
Install the bolts and tighten them moderately and close the doors with your hand.

 (c)  Use this same adjustment procedure to adjust for a clearance of
 0.10 +0.10/-0.04 inch between the inboard edges of the doors.
 NOTE: Remove the shims, if it is necessary, for the correct
____ thickness to get the correct adjustment.

 (6)  
Do the steps (1) and (2) for the aft hinge again.

 (a)  
Align the external outboard surface of the door with the fuselage skin surface.

 (7)  
Loosen the four bolts (20) in each of the forward and the hinge brackets (12) for the aft door.

 S 824-005

 (8)  
Move each hinge bracket until the serrations of the hinge bracket align with the serrations in the plate (22).
