 Do the SRM operational test with the hydraulic system No. 3:

 (a)  
Hold the STAB TRIM switches on the captain's control wheel to the NOSE UP for 5 seconds. 1) Make sure that the stabilizer position indicators move to

 the APL NOSE UP. 2) Release the STAB TRIM switches.

 (b)  
Push the key for 27 STABILIZER TRIM from the menu page for existing faults of the CMC (The 27 STAB TRIM will not show if there are no faults).

 (c)  
Make sure that these existing faults messages do not show on the CDU: 1) SRM-R Fail (SRM-L) 2) SRM-R Fail (SRM-R)

 (d)  
Hold the STAB TRIM switches to the NOSE DN for 5 seconds.

 1)  Make sure that the stabilizer position indicators move to the APL NOSE DN.

 STABILIZER HINGE - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has six tasks:
 (1)  
The removal of the stabilizer hinge pivot pins (which is referred to as the "pivot pin")

 (2)  
The installation of the replacement pivot pin

 (3)  
The removal of the stabilizer hinge

 (4)  
The installation of the replacement hinge

 (5)  
The adjustment of the stabilizer hinge

 (6)  
An operational test of the stabilizer hinge.

 B.  
If it is necessary to replace a hinge bearing, replacing the other hinge bearing the same time is recommended.

 C.  
Remove only one set of the pivot pin and the hinge bearing on one side of the airplane at a time.

 D.  
You do not have to adjust the stabilizer hinge when you remove the pivot pin for the corrosion inspection.

G27036-46 - Horizontal Stabilizer Hinge Bearing Free Play Check Tool (which is referred to as the "check tool") (Preferred)

 NOTE:____Use this tool with shear deck fittings (Fig. 201). Use the tool only in an area that has no high winds.

 (3)  
6MIT65B03670 - Horizontal Stabilizer Hinge Bearing Free Play Check Tool (which is referred to as the "check tool") (Optional)
