Remove the screws (14), the washers (13), the ring (9) and the bellows (12).
(b)
Install the new bellows (12), the ring (9), the washers (13) and the screws (14).
(2)
Make an inspection of the air intake flap and the structure fittings for cracks and corrosion. Replace the fittings if necessary.
(3)
Close and open the air intake flap manually and examine the adjustment. Adjust the air intake flap if necessary (Ref. TASK 49-16-43-400-001).
(4)
Apply the SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to all the mating surfaces. Do not apply the putty to any part of the bonding jumper
(21) or it's mating surface.

B. Installation of the Air Intake Actuator
(1)
Hold the air intake flap in the top position.
(2)
Make sure that the new air-intake flap actuator (6) is in the flap open position (retracted).
NOTE : Turn the manual override device on the air-intake flap
____ actuator with a torque wrench until the actuator rod is in the retracted position (which agrees with the open position of the air intake flap). For the 43-1-1100 Amendment 1 actuator a torque up to 0.3 m.daN (26.54 lbf.in) is permitted. For the 106-1-1100-02 actuator, a torque up to 0.4 m.daN
(35.39 lbf.in) is permitted.

CES Be careful when you come to the mechanical stop at the end of travel. If you turn the manual override device with a torque more than the limit, damage to the air-intake flap actuator will occur.
NOTE : For the 43-1-1100 Amendment 1 actuator, approximately 47 turns
____ are necessary on the manual override device for one full travel of the air-intake flap actuator. For the 106-1-1100-02 actuator, approximately 87 turns are necessary on the manual override device for one full travel of the air-intake flap actuator.
(3)
Put the air-intake flap actuator (6) in position and install the bolt (5), the washers (3) and (4) and the castle nut (2).
(4)
TORQUE the castle nut (2) to between 0.7 and 0.8 m.daN (61.94 and
70.79 lbf.in) and safety it with a new cotter pin (1).
(5)
Seal the connection with the SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) and apply the PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-001).
(6)
Connect the air intake flap with the bolt (10), the washers (15), (9A) and the castle nut (16). Do not fully tighten the nut at this time.
(7)
Remove the blanking cap and connect the electrical connector (18) and safety it with lockwire MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-010).
(8)
Connect the bonding jumper (21) with the screw (20) and the washer (19).
(9)
Seal the connection with the SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) and apply the PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-001).

TORQUE the castle nut (16) to between 0.7 and 0.8 m.daN (61.94 and
70.79 lbf.in) and safety it with a new cotter pin (17).

Seal the connection with the SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) and apply the PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-001)
(3)
Install the clamp (11) and connect the bellows (12) to the air-intake flap actuator (6).

Install the catwalk panel on the service panel with the 22 stud fasteners.
