Select the number of the wire gauge to crimp.

Engage the stripped wire in the pin/socket.
(4)
Make sure that you can see the wire conductor through the pin/socket hole.
(5)
Install the pin/socket contact in the positioner.
(6)
Fully close the tool handles until the safety ratchet releases.
(7)
Remove the crimped contact.
(8)
If sealing is necessary :
-Heat shrink the sleeve if installed before stripping.
-If it is necessary to use several sleeves, wait until the first sleeve is fully cool before you shrink the other sleeves.

NORMAL CONTACTS FOR ARINC 600 CONNECTORS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General This chapter gives the connection procedure for Normal Contact used for ARINC600 type Connectors. These contacts have the following codes:

-E0170 and E0171

B. Wire Stripping (Ref. Fig. 002) Note position of polarization keys. Remove the two screws attaching polarization key and grounding contact retention plate. Strip wire over a length of 6.5 mm (0.2559 in.).
C. Crimping Procedure and Tools
(Ref. Fig. 002)
(1)
Engage wire through crimping tool fitted with yellow turret positioner.
(2)
Engage wire into adapter hole.
(3)
Slide adapter on wire and install it in crimping tool housing.
(4)
Place contact on wire.
(5)
Slide assembly toward crimping tool until first contact shoulder abuts adapter.
(6)
Hold assembly.
(7)
Crimp.
(8)
Remove wire from crimping tool and adapter.

Use of Ground Continuity Contacts on ABS Housing Polarization Plates For a cable which ensures ground continuity on an ARINC 600 connector polarization plate, you must crimp the size 12 contact first before routing of cable on rack. P/N of male contacts alone: ABS0832KK1216.

-If sealing is necessary, install the two heat-shrinkable sleeves on the wire before stripping. Shrinking is made after crimping.
