(5)
Increase the temperature until the two solder preforms are fully
melted.
(6)
Let the temperature of the assembly decrease for a minimum of 15 s
before you remove the contact from the fixture.
(7)
Check of the contact set-up.
(a) You can only set up the contact correctly if you can see the conditions that follow :
-
the two solder preforms are out of view
-
the overlap of the color conductor.
(8)
Move the braid(s) back along the body of the contact.
(9)
Cut the braid to the dimension shown.
(10)
Engage the screening feature ferrule until it touches the contact shoulder.
(11)
Increase the temperature of the screening feature ferrule until the solder is fully melted through the holes.
(12)
Hold the ferrule with a tool while you apply heat. Let the temperature of the assembly decrease for a minimum of 15 s before you remove the contact from the tool.
(13)
Check of the ferrule set-up.

NOTE : Make sure that the braid is correctly wet with the solder and that you can see the braid through a minimum of 2 holes in the screening feature ferrule.
