 The flash rate is given by a timer to the connected light unit.

 A blocking converter divides the D.C. voltage, transformer it to a higher voltage and then rectifies it.

 The capacitor charging voltage is limited to almost 450VDC by a voltage limitor. This provides a discharge path when the output circuit is open.

 The blocking converter is made inoperative after each flash by an arc blanking circuit. It reduces the arc-burning current of the connected light unit to give complete arc-suppression.

 The output-pulse for synchronisation between the power unit is produced by a clock generator.

 A chargeable accumulator which consist of series parallel connected capacitors and a charge circuit.

 The start impulse generator produces a high voltage frequency ascillation for the transformer in the connected power unit.

 A. Anti-Collision/Beacon Lights The system is supplied with power when the busbars are energized and the circuit breakers 1LV and 5LV are closed. The power control relay contacts 8LV and 9LV are supplied with 200VAC. The control switch 2LV in the BEACON ON position energizes the relay 8LV and 9LV. The power units 3LV and 4LV are supplied with 200VAC. The anti-collision light 7LV and 6LV flash at a rate of 42 to 50 flashes per minute.

 A. Anti-Collision/Beacon Lights The system is supplied with power when the busbars are energized and the circuit breakers 1LV and 5LV are closed. The power control relay contacts 8LV and 9LV are supplied with 200VAC. The control switch 2LV in the BEACON ON position energizes the relay 8LV and 9LV. The power units 3LV and 4LV are supplied with 200VAC. The anti-collision light 7LV and 6LV flash at a rate of 60+-10 flashes per minutes.

 B. Strobe Light The strobe light system is supplied with three phase 200VAC/400Hz when the busbar is energized and the circuit breaker 10LV is closed.
 (1)
 With the switch STROBE 11LV set to AUTO, 115VAC is supplied to the power relay 12LV. 28VDC, from the landing gear computer, is removed when the landing gear struts are extended. This de-energizes the coil of the control relay 13LV and gives a ground signal for the power relay 12LV. The power units 14LV, 15LV and 18LV are supplied with 200VAC. From these power units an increased voltage is produced to operate the strobe lights 16LV, 17LV and 19LV. 28VDC is supplied to the coil of relay 13LV when the landing gear struts are compressed. This energizes the coil of the control relay 13LV and removes the ground signal. The power relay 12LV is de-energized and the three phase 200VAC/400Hz is removed from the power units 14LV, 15LV and 18LV.

 With the switch STROBE 11LV set to ON, 115VAC is supplied to the power relay 12LV. It also gives a ground signal for the coil of the power relay 12LV. The power units 14LV, 15LV and 18LV are supplied with three phase 200VAC/400Hz from the power relay 12LV. The strobe lights flash as described.

 With the switch STROBE 11LV set to OFF:

the 115VAC is removed from the coil of power relay 12LV.

the ground signal is removed from the coil of power relay 12LV.
