NOTE : Do not cover the removed flash tube assy (21) with tape.

Make sure that the high speed tape is installed correctly. The high speed tape must seal all of the opening for the anti-collision light.

Write in the aircraft technical log that the anti-collision light has a temporary repair.

A. Deactivation of the Anti-Collision Lights
CAUTION : DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS.
_______ THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
(1) Remove the countersunk screws (1) from the lens (23) (Ref. TASK 33-48-11-000-001) or (Ref. TASK 33-48-12-000-001).
NOTE : Make match marks on the screws (1) and/or their positions to
____ help with the installation procedure (different screw sizes).
(2)
Remove and discard the remaining part of the lens (23) and the seal
(22) or (32).
(3)
Remove the countersunk screws (3) from the plate (18).
(4)
Lift the light assembly until you can see the electrical connector (9).
(5)
Disconnect the electrical connector (9) from the light assembly and support the electrical connector (9).
(6)
Remove the screws (2) from the cage (20) and remove the cage (20).
(7)
Remove the screws (11) from the housing (12) and remove the housing (12).
(8)
Disconnect the electrical connectors (17) from the transformer (13). NOTE : Put identification labels on the electrical leads. This will
____ help you to install the electrical connectors (17) again.

(9) Carefully remove the reflector (19) from the plate (18).
NOTE : Remove only the reflector (19) and not the light assembly.

Install the transformer (13) in the housing (12) with the screws (11).

Install the plate (18) on the housing (12) with the screws (2).

Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.

Connect the electrical connector (9) to the transformer (13).
(14)
Install the plate (18) and the seal (14) or (34) on the flange (10) with the countersunk screws (3).
(15)
Make and install a cover for the cable hole in the plate (18) from the high speed tape, BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-061).
(16)
Clean the surface of the fuselage (8) around the anti-collision light with a lint-free cotton cloth, MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with a warm soap solution.
