(4) Install the ring assemblies and dust seals:
(a) Install the forward dust seal [19], aft dust seal [18], forward ring assembly [14], and aft ring
assembly [17] with the screws [15] and washers [16].
CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD THE DUST CAP TOO TIGHTLY AGAINST THE WIRE BUNDLE. IT
CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL WIRES.
(b) If it is necessary, adjust the dust cap [3] to set the edge of the dust seals lightly up against
the dust cap [3].
1) Loosen the clamp [2] to adjust the dust cap [3].
(c) Make sure the gap between the two dust seals is 0.060 inch (1.52 millimeters).
(d) Fill the hole between the notch in the dust seals and the cutout in the floor with sealant,

(a) Move the STAB TRIM CUTOUT switch to the NORMAL position.
(b) Move the STAB TRIM switches to APL NOSE UP and then to APL NOSE DOWN.

(9) Do a test of the autopilot disengage switch on the control wheel:
(a) Push the CMD A or CMD B autopilot engage switch on the mode control panel to engage
the autopilot.

(b) Push the captain or first officer autopilot disengage switch on the control wheel to
disengage the autopilot.
1) Make sure that the A/P warning lights flash.
2) Make sure that the A/P disengage warning sound comes on.
3) Push the captain or first officer autopilot disengage switch again.
a) Make sure that the A/P warning lights go off.
b) Make sure that there is no A/P disengage warning sound.

CONTROL COLUMN SUPPORT BEARING - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of a control column support bearing
(2) An installation of a control column support bearing.
B. The control column support bearing is referred to as "support bearing" in this procedure.
C. the support bearing includes the forward quadrant connector, bearing housing, shim, and bearing.
D. This procedure is applicable for the support bearings on the captain’s and first officer’s control
column.
