(1) For the surface of the baseplate [5], do this task: Clean Bare, Clad, or Plated Metal with
Solvent, TASK 20-10-34-110-802.

(2) Put the pitot probe [8] on the baseplate [5]:
(a) Install the bolts [3] and washers [4] in the baseplate [5].
(b) Install the lockwire, G01912 on the bolts [3].

(3) Install the elbow [11] on the pitot probe assembly [8]:
(a) Make sure the center of the elbow [11] is aligned with the alignment mark on the inboard
side of the pitot probe [8] base (Figure 401).

(4) Put the new gasket [2] in position on the baseplate [5].

CAUTION: USE WRENCHES TO APPLY COUNTER PRESSURE ON EACH SIDE OF THE FITTING
DURING ASSEMBLY. DAMAGE TO THE TUBE OR FITTING CAN OCCUR.
(5) Connect the pitot hose fitting [10] to the elbow [11].
NOTE: The lowest point of the flexible hose should be the connection with the pitot probe.

(6) Remove the long screw [6] from the electrical connector [1], if it is installed.

(7) Examine the electrical connector [1] for loose, bent, or broken pins.

(9) Install the long screw [6] in the electrical connector [1].

(10) Apply a thin layer of sealant, A00247 or PR-1828 sealant, A00708, on the mating surfaces of the
baseplate [5] and pitot probe [8].
NOTE: You can use the quick curing sealant in applications where the aircraft needs to go
quickly back into service. The two part sealant should be mixed and then applied per
BAC5000 or BAC5030.
NOTE: If the aircraft needs to go quickly back into service, and you do not use the quick curing
sealant, it is not necessary to apply either sealant immediately if the cure time of either
of the two sealants will cause a flight delay. To prevent moisture damage to the
airplane, sealant should be applied as soon as it is convenient for the operator.

(11) Do these steps to put the pitot probe [8] in its position:
(a) Hold the probe strut [7].
(b) Put the pitot hose fitting [10] and electrical connector [1] in the installation hole.
(c) Put the pitot probe [8] in its position on the airplane skin.
1) Make sure the airplane skin and the baseplate [5] are aligned in ± 0.04 inch (± 1.0
millimeters) or less.

(12) Install the bolts [9] in the baseplate [5] of the pitot probe [8].

(13) Tighten the bolts [9].

(14) Fill the gap between the baseplate [5] and the airplane skin with sealant, A00247.
NOTE: It is not necessary to apply the sealant immediately if the cure time of the sealant will
cause a flight delay. To prevent moisture damage to the airplane, sealant should be
applied as soon as it is convenient for the operator.
(a) Make sure the baseplate [5] and sealant are flat with the airplane skin.
