 (9)  
Install the movable fairing.

 (a)  
Lift the fairing to the installed position.

 NOTE: Use the guide ropes to help get the fairing in the
____ correct position. Make sure the fairing does not turn in the handling dolly.
 (b)  
Align the fairing and hinge.

 (c)  
Connect the fairing and the hinge fitting and the hinge link. 1) Install the bushings (17 and 22) on the two hinges. 2) Put washers (18 and 21) on the two bolts (19 and 20). 3) Install the bolts (19 and 20) with their heads to the flap

 track web. 4) Install the washers (16 and 23) and nuts (15 and 24) on the bolts. 5) Tighten the 1/2-inch nut (24) to 290-410 pound-inches (33-46 N-m). 6) Tighten the 5/16-inch nut (15) on fairing No. 3 or 6 to 30-40 pound-inches (3.4-4.5 N-m). 7) Tighten the 5/16-inch nut on fairing No. 4 or 5 to 60-85 pound-inches (6.8-9.6 N-m). 8) Install the cotter pins.

 (d)  
If the movable fairing was disconnected between the flap track and the fixed drive link, connect the fixed drive link to the flap track (Fig. 401, View C). 1) Slide the link pivot pin (31) through the fitting assembly

 and the fixed drive link (Section D-D).
 NOTE: Make sure the holes in the link pivot pin and the
____ fitting assembly are aligned.
 2)  Install the bolt (32), washers (34) and nut (33) through the fitting assembly and link pivot pin (31) and torque to 60-85 pound-inches (6.8-9.6 N-m).
 3) Connect the drive rod to the midflap fitting and torque the bolt to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34 N-m). 4) Lubricate the joint at the zerk fittings with BMS 3-33 grease (AMM 12-21-20/301).
 NOTE: Make sure you remove any padding from the fairing
____ that may have been used to protect the linkage assembly and the inside of the movable fairing.
 (e)  Install the support fitting on the fairing.
 NOTE: See Section C-C, Fig. 401 for the sequence that the
____
 parts must be installed.

 (f)  Tighten the 1/2-inch nut to 290-410 pound-inches (33-46 N-m).

 (g)  
Tighten the 7/16-inch bolt to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34 N-m).

 (h)  
Install the bonding jumper (27) between the fairing and the hinge.

 Hold the fairing in its position and remove the tools from the fairing and from the airplane.

 Lubricate the fairing (AMM 12-21-20/301).

 Adjust the fairing (AMM 27-51-26/501).

 (13)
 Install the fixed fairing (Fig. 403).

 (a)
Put the fixed fairing into its position on the airplane.

 NOTE: Make sure the tiebolt holes are aligned.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE FIXED FAIRING IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY AGAINST
_______ THE LOWER SURFACE OF THE WING WHEN THE TIEBOLTS ARE INSTALLED. THE FIXED FAIRING CAN BE LOOSE AND FALL FROM THE AIRPLANE.
 (b)  On fixed fairing No. 3 or 6, install two tiebolts. On fixed fairing No. 4 or 5, install one tiebolt.
 NOTE: Make sure that the tiebolts are correctly engaged in the
____
 attach bracket.

 (c)  Align the two vertical adjustable rods with the fairing fitting.
 NOTE: The clearance must be approximately 0.38 inch (9 mm)
____ between the wing lower surface and the fixed fairing edge.
 1) Adjust the rod ends if it is necessary.
