Align the brace and the hinge link (43) with the bolt hole.

Install the hinge bolt, the washers (41 and 55) and the nut (42).

 NOTE: Do not tighten the nut.

 (i)  
Install the tiebolt (1), washers (59 and 61) and nut (60). 1) Install the countersunk washer (61) between the adjustable

 rod (16) and tiebolt lock (2). 2) Install the tiebolt clevis parallel to the ground.

 (j)  
If it is necessary, install the tiebolt lock (2) with the bolt (3), washer (4) and nut (5).

 (k)  
Tighten the nuts on the No. 1 or 8 hinge bolt to 480-600 pound-inches (54-68 N-m).

 (l)  
Tighten the nuts on the No. 2 or 7 hinge bolts to 1800-2200 pound-inches (203-249 N-m).

 (m)  
Tighten the nut on the tiebolt to 350-480 pound-inches (40-54 N-m).

Install the support equipment (Fig. 402):

 (a)  
Put the fairing in the handling dolly.

 (b)  
Attach the fairing with the straps.

 (c)  
Attach the bootstrap clamp to the flap track.

 (d)  
Attach the two fishpole hoists to the clamp and the handling dolly.

 (e)  
Lift the fairing to its position. 1) Make sure the fairing does not turn in the handling dolly. 2) Use the guide ropes to help put the fairing in its

 position.

 (5)  
Install the outboard flap track fairing (Fig. 403):

 (a)  
Align the fairing and the hinge.

 (b)  
Install the bushings (46 and 51) on the hinge attach points (A-A).

 (c)  
Install the washers (47 and 50) on the bolts (48 and 49) and install the bolts with their heads to the flap track web.

 (d)  
Attach the bolts with washers (44 and 52) and nuts (45 and 53).

 (e)  
Tighten the 1/2-inch nut (53) to 290-410 pound-inches
 (33-46 N-m).

 (f)  
Tighten the 1/4-inch nut (45) to 30-40 pound-inches
 (3.4-4.5 N-m).

 (g)  
On fairings No. 2 and 7, If the movable fairing was disconnected between the flap track and the fixed drive link, connect the fixed drive link to the flap track (Fig. 403, View C). 1) Slide the link pivot pin (68) through the fitting assembly
