 BODY GEAR DOORS - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks:
 (1)  
The adjustment of the doors for the body landing gear.

 (2)  
The adjustment of the doors for the body landing gear after the door actuator replacement.

 B.  
When you replace the door for the body landing gear, you must adjust the door. It is necessary to close the door to check the actuator for the fully locked position or for rig pin installation of the sequence valve. If the actuator cannot be locked fully or the rig pin cannot be put in freely, you must adjust the door.

 C.  
When you close the doors, make sure the landing gear control handle is in the off position. This will port the hydraulic pressure in the door actuator to return and ensure the door is mechanically locked.

 D.  
You can adjust the forward doors for the body landing gear with the airplane on the ground. You must lift the airplane clear of the ground to adjust the shock strut door. If you do not have jacks, you can do a alternative door adjustment with the steps that follow.

 E.  
This task is applicable to the left body landing gear doors and the right body landing gear doors.

 2.  Adjustment - Body Gear Doors____________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  
The adjustment of the doors is necessary if a door is out of the contour or after the door replacement.

 (2)  
The door preload is necessary to keep the door contour and the aerodynamic smoothness during flight. It is given in each adjustment where it is applicable.

 (3)  
An alternative adjustment for the shock strut doors is given. (See step for Alternative Door Adjustment For The Shock Strut (Airplane not lifted). You can use the alternative adjustment when it is not possible to lift the airplane, and when the exact length of the inboard and outboard linkage rods and the positions of the stop pads are known.

 (4)  
Throughout the adjustment, use the safety precautions to prevent person injury from the accidental gear operation or door opening or closing.

 B.
