C. Install the Engine with the Engine Mount

WARNING: DO NOT GO UNDER THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS HELD BY THE
ENGINE HOIST. IF THE HOIST FAILS, THE ENGINE CAN FALL AND
CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(1) Move the engine and engine mount into position
with the hoist:
S Locate the engine mount pads onto the
mounting studs.
S Gently move the engine mount aft until the
mounting pads are correctly located against
the firewall.
Make sure that all electrical cables,
control cables and other items are
correctly positioned.
(2) Attach the engine mount to the fuselage:
S Install the nuts and washers onto the top
mounting studs.
S Install the nuts and washers onto the bottom
mounting studs.
S Install the nose leg strut onto the center
mounting stud.
S Install the washer and nut onto the center
mounting stud.
Do not tighten the nuts.
Do not tighten the nuts.
Do not tighten the nuts.
(3) Tighten the mounting nuts.
(4) Connect the manifold pressure pipe to the
connector on the firewall.

(5) Move these cables into position and connect
them to their related components:
S The engine earth cable.
S The generator (5 cables).
S The starter motor (1 cable).
S Fuel pressure sensor (1 cable).
S Oil temperature sensor.
S Fuel flow sensor.
S RPM sensor.
S The SlickSTART booster control unit or
LASAR control unit.
S The voltage regulator.
Install the P-clamps and cable ties in the correct
positions.
At the in-line connector.
At the in-line connector.
(6) Connect the cylinder-head temperature-probes:
S Connect the in-line cable connector
connectors.
S Install the cable ties which hold the cable in
the correct position.
Do this item for each cylinder head
temperature-probe.
Red cable to red cable and white cable
to white cable.
(7) Connect the electrical cable for the oil pressure
sensor. Install the cable ties which hold the cable
in the correct position.
(8) Install the P-clamp which attaches the breather
pipe to the firewall.
Remove the caps.
(9) Connect the fuel feed hose at the firewall. Remove the caps.

(10) Connect the alternate air control cable:
S Put the control cable in position through the
guide attached to the alternate air control
assembly.
S Install the lock-nut onto the control cable
outer which attaches the cable to the guide
and tighten the lock-nut.
S Push the cable wire end through the swivel in
the operating lever.
S Make sure that the alternate air control lever
in the cockpit is set to OFF.
S Make sure that the alternate air assembly is
set to the OFF position.
S Move the alternate air control lever in the
cockpit 3 mm (0.125 in) aft from OFF.
S Tighten the screw in the swivel.
S Install the P-clamps and cable ties which hold
the control cable in the correct position.
S Do a test for correct range, full and free
movement of the alternate air control system.
Fully forward.
Inlet holes fully closed.
Refer to Section 76-00.
(11) Connect the throttle cable to the fuel injector:
S Move the cable into position and push the
cable through the bracket at the bottom of the
engine.
S Install the front adjustment nut and washer on
the outer sheath and tighten the nut.
(12) Install the cable eye end onto the throttle cable:
S Install the lock-nut onto the cable end.
S Install the eye end onto the cable end.
S Tighten the lock-nut.
Use a piece of lock-wire to make sure
that the eye end is installed correctly.

(13) Connect the cable eye end to the throttle lever at
the fuel injector:
