firewall:
S Remove the fire resistant sealant from where
the cable goes through the firewall.
S Remove the two rivets that attach the split
shields to the firewall.
S Remove the split-shields.
S Move the two halves of the split-bush forward
and clear of the cable.
(8) Remove the knob from the fuel selector valve:
S Remove the cross-head screw from the
center of the control-knob and pull the knob
up and off the fuel selector valve.
S Remove the mounting plate.
(9) Release the engine control assembly:
S Loosen the throttle friction adjuster until the
adjuster is disconnected from the shaft.
S Remove the four cross-head screws which
attach the engine control lower-cover-plate to
the engine control assembly.
S Remove the two hex-headed bolts from the
top of the upper-cover -plate.
S Lift and support the engine control assembly
clear of the center console.
Pull and hold the throttle friction
adjuster clear. Make sure you do not
pull on the control cables.

(10) Disconnect the cable wire-end from the propeller
control lever:
S Loosen the nut of the attachment bolt.
S Pull the cable clear.
(11) Release the control cable from the anchor point
at the control assembly:
S Remove the front-adjusting-nut from the
cable adjuster.
S Remove the washer and move the cable
forward and clear of the anchor point.
S Remove the rear adjusting nut and washer
from the control-cable-adjuster.
Make a note of the cable adjustment!
(12) Pull the control cable through the firewall, from
the engine-bay side, and clear of the airplane.
B. Install the Propeller Control Cable

(1) Move the propeller control cable into position
through the firewall from the engine-bay side.
(2) Install the rear adjusting nut and washer onto the
cable adjuster and put the outer cable through
the support bracket at the propeller control lever.
Refer to Figure 3.
(3) Install the washer and front adjusting nut onto the
cable.
Adjust the cable to the position noted at
Paragraph 3.A.(11).
(4) Pass the cable wire-end through the hole in the
attachment bolt at the propeller control lever and
tighten the lock-nut.
Make sure that the wire-end is fully
through the hole in the attachment bolt.
(5) If necessary, for your airworthiness authority, do
a second inspection of the engine control
assembly.

(6) Install the engine control assembly:
S Do a check for loose articles.
S Move the engine control assembly into
position in the center console.
S Loosely attach the knob for the throttle friction
adjuster.
S Install the four cross head screws which
attach the lower-cover-plate to the center
console.
S Install the two hex-headed bolts which attach
the upper-cover-plate to the center console.
Specially in the center console.
Make sure all the control cables take up
the correct position.
(7) Install the knob on the fuel selector valve:
S Move the cover plate into position over the
selector valve.
S Push the selector knob onto the valve shaft.
S Install the cross-head screw which attaches
the knob to the shaft.
(8) Put the propeller control cable into position
through the grommets in the engine-coolingbaffles.
(9) Install the rear adjusting nut and washer onto the
cable adjuster at the propeller end of the cable.
(10) Pass the cable adjuster through the support
bracket at the propeller governor.
(11) Install the washer and nut to the front of the
adjuster.

(12) Install the cable wire-end to the propeller
governor:
S Push the wire-end through the hole in the
attachment bolt, between the governor input
lever and the inboard washer.
S Make sure that the wire-end is fully through
the attachment bolt.
S Tighten the lock-nut on the attachment bolt.
(13) Install the firewall feed-thru for the propeller
control cable:
S Move the split bushes into position around
the cable.
S Push the split bushes aft into the firewall.
