 (2)  Do a test of the mach trim actuator (with the test box):
 NOTE: If you use the DFCS computer BITE, do the test of the mach
____
 trim actuator with the DFCS BITE test.

 (a)  
Connect the test box to the mach trim actuator after you disconnect the wiring to the actuator.

 (b)  
Connect the voltmeter to the test box RVT OUTPUT.

 (c)  
Do this task: "Pressurize the Elevator Hydraulic Systems A and B" (AMM 27-31-00/201).

 (d)  
Set the power switch on the test box to ON.

 (e)  
Set the speed switch on the test box to 12 uf (LOW).

 (f)  
Operate the direction control (EXTEND/RETRACT) switch on the test box to set the actuator to 130 mv maximum on the voltmeter to get a null.

 (g)  
Set the speed switch on the test box to 2 uF (HIGH).

 (h)  
Operate the direction control (RETRACT) switch on test box to set the actuator to 17.6 |0.3v ac on the voltmeter.

 (i)  
Make sure that time to retract the actuator is between 10-25 seconds.

 (j)  
Move the aft control quadrant to make sure the elevator system is in the center position.

 (k)  
Measure the right elevator position from the index mark on the tail cone. 1) Write down the dimension and refer to it as the "A".

 (l)  
Operate the direction control (EXTEND) switch on the test box to set the actuator to 0 |0.130v ac on the voltmeter. 1) Make sure the necessary time to extend the actuator is

 between 10-25 seconds.

 (m)  
Adjust the aft control quadrant to make sure the system is in the center.

 (n)  
Measure the right elevator position from the index mark. 1) Write down the dimension and refer to it as the "B".

 (o)  
Make sure the sum of the travel A and B is 2.52 |0.25 inches.

 NOTE: 2.52 |0.25 inches is equivalent to an angular movement
____
 of 4.20 |0.42 degrees.

 (p)  
Do this task: "Remove the Elevator Hydraulic Systems A and B" (AMM 27-31-00/201).

 (q)  
Disconnect the test box from the mach trim actuator.

 (r)  
Connect wiring to the actuator.

 (3)  Do a test of the mach trim actuator (with the DFCS computer BITE)
 NOTE: This test is not necessary, if you did the test of the mach

 trim actuator with the test box.

 (a)  
Push the INIT/REF key on the FMCS CDU.

 (b)  
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <INDEX.

 (c)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to MAINT>.

 (d)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <DFCS.

 (e)  
Push the NEXT PAGE on the CDU to select page 2.

 (f)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <RIGGING.

 (g)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to MACH TRIM> (50.00).

 (h)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <CONTINUE.

 (i)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <CHANNEL A. 1) Make sure a display of the VERIFY SURFACES CLEAR and the

 PRESSURIZE HYD SYS A-B are on the CDU.
 2) Do the steps shown on the CDU.

 (j)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <CONTINUE (57.00). 1) Make sure a display of the SET STABILIZER B DIMEN TO 41.57

 (|0.01) IN (3.0 UNITS) is on the CDU.
 2) Do the step shown on the CDU.

 (k)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <CONTINUE (57.01).

 (l)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <CONTINUE (57.02). 1) Make sure a display of the JIGGLE COLUMN/WHEEL is on the CDU.
