 (1)  
Do a test of the rudder trim control system:

 (a)  
Supply the rudder hydraulic power systems A and B (Ref 27-21-00/201).

 (b)  
Make sure that the rudder is at neutral. 1) If necessary, trim the rudder and jiggle the rudder pedals.

 (c)  
Make sure the rudder trim indicator is at 0 +/- 0.25 units.

 (d)  
Position the trim knob nose left until the mark of the trim knob aligns with the indication mark on the lightplate under the trim knob. 1) Make sure the rudder does not move.

 (e)  
Position the trim knob nose right until the mark on the trim knob aligns with the indication mark on the lightplate under the trim knob. 1) Make sure the rudder does not move.

 (f)  
Position and hold the rudder trim knob nose right until rudder trim indicator is at 10 +/- 0.25 units. 1) Make sure rudder moves to the right of centered (neutral)

 position. 2) Make sure rudder dimension is at 7.87 +/- 0.50 inches
 (9.37 +/- 0.60 degrees).
 (g)  Position and hold the trim knob nose right until the rudder stops moving. 1) Make sure the rudder dimension is 13.7 +/- 1.1 inches
 (16.26 |1.30 degrees) with at least 15 units of trim on the rudder trim position indicator.

 (h)  Position and hold the rudder trim knob nose left until rudder trim indicator is at 10 +/- 0.25 units.
 NOTE: The rudder trim authority is limited by the switches
____ in the rudder trim actuator at a maximum travel of approximately 17 units. To set these switches again after they operate, you must lower the units of trim as much as three units.
 1) Make sure rudder moves to the left of centered (neutral) position. 2) Make sure the rudder dimension is 7.87 |0.50 inches
 (9.37 degrees |0.60 degrees).
 (i)  Position and hold the rudder trim knob nose left until the rudder stops moving. 1) Make sure the rudder dimension is 13.7 +/- 1.1 inches
 (9.37 degrees |0.60 degrees) with at least 15 units of trim on the rudder trim position indicator.
 (j)  
Release the rudder trim knob.

 1)  Make sure that the rudder trim knob operates smoothly and goes back to the center freely.

 (k)  
Return the rudder to the centered position (neutral).

 1)  Position and hold rudder trim knob nose right until rudder trim indicator is at 0 +/- 0.25 units and the rudder is centered.

 (l)  
Make sure that the rudder trim indicator is at 0 |0.25 units.

 (m)  
Make sure that the rudder is at the neutral position
 (Fig. 505).

 (n)  
Make sure you can easily install or remove the rig pins R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4 and R-5.

 (2)  Put the airplane back to the usual hydraulic configuration (Ref 27-21-00/201).
