When selected tests will be run again at other times, they can be saved as a set for later
recall rather than reselecting them each time they need to be run. They can also be
customized first and then saved for later recall. To save the tests, while they are in the
Selected Tests window of the Test Selector interface, click the Save Setup button to save
them as a batch file on the host computer's hard drive.

To customize a test before executing or saving to hard drive, place the cursor in any of
the following cells of the Selected Tests grid, and modify their properties as needed:
• Loop Count Number of times to repeat the test
• Stop Mode Choose how the sequence will end:
Zero: Output shuts down to zero.
Program: Output per Program Settings
Segment: Output of last segment
• Use Custom Choose the customized version of the sequence
When finished, save as above and then if ready to run the tests immediately, click the
Execute button. The status bar indicates the actions in progress while the program
makes its preparations to run the selected test(s).

2.6.5 Executing a Test
The Execute button in the Test Selector interface, brings up the Test Executor interface
with the selected test(s) loaded. Error Checking may be selected (enable error message
pop-ups) or deselected (SWCS not in communication with the SW until last test
completed) through the Options menu (please see in Section 2.6.7). In the bottom right
corner of the Test Executor interface, the Error Checking status is displayed (ON or OFF).
In Run Options, the default is Auto Run where all tests will be run sequentially from
beginning to last, until all tests are completed unless the Stop All button is clicked. Single
Step is an option to pause running after each test. The user will be prompted for an okay
to run the next test. In Run Controls clicking the green Run Tests button will begin
running the tests. While the tests are running, the Run Tests button becomes a red Stop
All button; the currently running test is highlighted in blue; and the Test Executor Window
displays test progress in the three sections on the left side of the interface (description
follows Figure 2–13). Also in the Run Controls section, Replay Last will replay only the
last test in the grid, provided the test file had been uploaded completely; it does not load
files again. The Output Status section refers to the SW output; it will display either
Output Off with a green status LED (SW output is off) or Output On with a red status
LED (SW output is on).

Total Test Time – This section displays the total time for all tests being run and the
elapsed time since the beginning of the test. It also displays the total time remaining
until the end of all tests, along with a progress bar showing the total elapsed time
relative to the total test time.

Sequence Time – This section indicates the name of the currently running sequence,
along with the number of loops. In addition it displays total number of sequence tests
and the relative number of the currently running test to the total number of tests. This
section also displays the total and remaining time for the currently running test, along
with a progress bar showing the total elapsed time relative to the total sequence time.
Segment Time – Each sequence test is made up of from 1 to many segments. This
section displays the currently running segment along with the total segments in the
currently running sequence. (Note this information is especially useful if a failure of the
DUT occurs, allowing the user to identify the specific part of the test that may have
caused the failure of the DUT.) This section also displays the total and remaining
times for the currently running segment, along with a progress bar showing the total
elapsed time relative to the total segment time.
2.6.6 Extended Test Sequences
Under special conditions Test 6 (Switching Transients) requires batch testing due to the
large number of segments in each sequence. This means that specific test sequences
must be strung together and executed in groups. Each group contains 15 sequences
whose subtests, in accordance with the naming convention (7th place in the 8-character
name), are named 1 through 9 and A through F. The following table lists the extended
test sequences with their descriptions:
