(1) Do this task: Remove Pressure from the Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-11-00-860-801.

(2) Install the protractor, SPL-1682.
E. Aileron Balance Tab Adjustment
NOTE: You can adjust the aileron balance tab [31] with the aileron [32] in the faired position or with
the aileron [32] at the downrig position.
SUBTASK 27-11-00-820-017
(1) Do these steps to check the aileron balance tab [31] with the aileron [32] in the faired position:
(a) Align the lower surface of the aileron trailing edge flush with the lower trailing edge surface
of the adjacent fixed wing structure to ±0.03 inch (±0.8 millimeter) at the outboard end of
the aileron.
(b) Make sure that the outboard lower trailing edge surface of the aileron balance tab [31]
aligns with the lower trailing edge surface of the aileron [32] to ±0.03 inch (±0.8
millimeter).
1) If this condition is not met, adjust the aileron balance tab [31].

(2) Do these steps to check the aileron balance tab [31] with the aileron [32] in the downrig position

NOTE: The aileron rig position is when the outboard edge of the aileron upper surface is 0.49
±0.03 inch (12.45 ±0.8 millimeters) below the adjacent fixed lower trailing edge
surface.
(a) Measure the vertical distance between the lower surface of the aileron balance tab [31] to
the lower surface of the aileron [32] at the outboard end of the aileron balance tab [31]
(dimension A):
NOTE: You must measure the distance from the lower aft most points of the aileron
balance tab [31] and the aileron [32].
1) Make sure the dimension A is 0.12 ±0.07 inch (3.05 ±1.78 millimeters).
(b) If the dimension A is out of tolerance, adjust the aileron balance tab [31].
