SUBTASK 27-11-24-420-001
(1) Install the aileron wing quadrant assembly [9]:
(a) Assemble the aileron wing quadrant assembly [9] if it is necessary:

1) Apply sealant, A00247 to the top bearing [40];
2) Roller swage the top bearing [40] (SOPM 20-50-03);
3) Apply compound, C00913 to the bottom bearing [40];
4) Install the bearings [40] and bushing [41] in the aileron wing quadrant assembly [9];
5) Install the bolt [20], washer [21], bushing [22], washer [30], nut [29] and new pin [28] to
connect the aileron wing quadrant assembly [9] with the aileron control rod [17].
(b) Connect the aileron wing quadrant assembly [9] to the aileron hinge support [18].
1) Install the bolt [23], washer [35], bushing [24], washer [25] nut [27] and new pin [26].
(c) Install the bolt [10], washer [11], bushing [12], washer [15], nut [14], and new pin [13] to
connect the aileron control rod [17] to the aileron [16].
(d) Install the bolt [31] and washer [32] to connect the aileron position transmitter rod to the
aileron wing quadrant assembly [9]:
1) Make sure the aileron position transmitter rod is 17.01 inches (432.05 millimeters) from
bolt center to bolt center;
2) If adjustment of the aileron position transmitter rod is necessary, do this task: Aileron
Position Transmitter Installation Test, TASK 31-31-31-700-801.
(e) Put the cable ABSA [2] (for the left wing) and cable ABSB [4] (for the right wing) in the
bottom groove of the aileron wing quadrant assembly [9].
(f) Put the cable ABSB [4] (for the left wing) and cable ABSA [2] (for the right wing) in the top
groove of the aileron wing quadrant assembly [9].
(g) Install the cable terminations through the retaining plates [19].
(h) Install the retaining plates [19] with the bolts [5], washers [6], washers [7] and nuts [8].
(i) Install the cable guard [36] with bolts [37], washers [38] and nuts [39].
1) Adjust the cable guard [36] until the gap between the cable guard [36] and the aileron
wing quadrant assembly [9] is 0.030-0.050 inch (0.76-1.27 millimeters).
(j) Connect the cable ABSA [2] and cable ABSB [4] to the turnbuckles [1], but keep the cable
tension at zero.

(2) Adjust the tension of the cable ABSA [2] and cable ABSB [4]. To adjust the cables ABSA [2] and
ABSB [4], do this task: Aileron Cables Adjustment, TASK 27-11-00-820-801.

AILERON BALANCE PANELS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the aileron balance panel
(2) An installation of the aileron balance panel.
B. There are four aileron balance panels on each wing. This procedure is applicable for all the aileron
balance panels.
